I purchased a set of 4 of Primacy 4 tires approx. 4 weeks ago after being told the Primacy LC were not available.
After having 8 sets of Primacy LC these tires are a very hard compound compared to the Primacy LC and the amount of noise and thumping of the suspension over bump strips,expansion gaps on bridges and general road pot holes is beyond belief. I now have rattles in the car and suspension that I have never had before. Adjusting tire pressures has made no difference and when the tires are cold the problem is worse. The tread is far to hard and is not compliant and has been developed for wear and not handling. Braking is very good on dry roads but only average on wet roads and it is very easy to spin the front wheels on acceleration from traffic lights on damp bitumen.
The smoothness of the Primacy LC's on the same roads has gone, along with the road holding when pushing into corners at speed and I am using a lot more fuel compared to when the Primacy LC's were fitted.
my regular commute to work is approx.350 kms per week on the open road and I was getting 400km per half tank.
This has now dropped back to between 310km & 350 km since fitting the Primacy 4.
These tires are overpriced and ride very harshly and do not inspire confidence in corners and there must be better buys.
I have only done 2000km on them so far so I cannot judge what the wear rate will but as that a very hard tire know doubt it quite high.

Quite a decent tire nothing much to complain about grips really well driven around 10k km and there is almost no wear at all ! Pretty happy with them

Wanted the Primacy 3's again. 20k out of those and was happy. currently 21k out of these, after tire swaps front to back at 14k. currently 5mm front and rear. Its November and really want to change to winter tires, but can't see the point as there is too much left on these tires after 10 months of use.

They don't keep pressure too well. tend to lose 2 to 3 psi all round in a month. obviously they get softer and comfort kicks in before steering gets heavier.

straight line traction is OK in acceleration. braking is a different matter. these are the only tires that have caused me wheel shake on baking hard. (disks and pads changed for the same reason, but the effect is still due to the tires at 38 or 36 psi both sides.

These tires are really a mixed bag. While dry and wet braking, wet handling and cornering are good, straight line traction off the line isn't. You have to know I drive a car with just around 120 BHP, which is nothing really. I get too much wheel spin on tarmac off the line and even mid 2nd gear which is really weird. It is like these were designed for rear wheel drive cars, whose tires will not spin as much off the line compared to a front wheel drive like mine. Wear and comfort are good so far, no worries here at least.

Overall while I wanted to like these tires I wouldn't buy them again really.

I bought this tires before 1 month. Its a premium touring summer tires very smooth and quiet BUT its not for racing driving so much.
They have soft soft soft side walls so its not for extreme corners like the tires i had before, Continental sport contact 2 and Dunlop sport Maxx RT and the Pilot Sport 3.
So i am not so satisfied beacuse i want more sporty tires but it is a good tires with good braking distance and dry handling. In water i cant say something beacuse in Greece we dont have raining already wet.

To me aquaplaning is the main issue especially when u r driving near to the side of the road where water tends to accumulate more. The tires felt lifted when going over a puddle of water.

Having owned these for 2 years now I wouldnt buy again. V hard compound which might give great wear and maybe ok for motorway use but is at compromise of most other things.

Pros:
- Good wear.
- Wet braking/handling

Cons:
- Hard compound means skiddy on gravel surfaces.
- Hard compound means seal on older alloys to be poor and loses tire pressure easily.....I assume less easy to mould/seal on alloys.
- Hard compound doesnt make for v comfortable ride/bumps/potholes.
- Virtually no feedback when driving so makes handling difficult

Fitted on the car as new, previous car had primacy 3 tires and was happy with them. Nothing changed as far as can tell with primacy 4 tires good in the wet and the dry ,good handling just have to wait and see if they live up to the long life of its predecessor the primacy 3 , only time will ell

After 10 years or running only UHP (Ultra High Performance) tires on my W221 S class, I switched to the Primacy 4 on 235/55/17 17" wheels.

The reason, is that I moved to a region where the roads are generally "Mad Max" status, potholes, and generally horrible road conditions. The P zero 275/40/19 which I had on the car previously was of course "sporty" and excellent handling, but we needed to replace this with something that is soft, and able to absorb the most horrible impacts on these roads.

I can suggest the Primacy 4 if you are looking for a comfortable, safe, and quiet tire.

I was afraid to buy this tire because of the other reviews stating it's " too soft" etc - the tire is not " too " soft at all, it's a comfortable, safe tire that won't let you down. It's not the tire for doing insane maneuvers at 200 mph, but if you're a safe and normal driver, it's the * perfect * tire for every day, comfortable, with predictable handling.

Excellent all round tire. Car feels brand new again. Good overall comfort. Feel safe heading into the winter season.
Would recommend these Tire's.
I have only just purchased these, so this is based on a short drive. I have just ordered the same pair to replace the rear now. I am replacing a set of older Michelin Tire's (6 years old) which has done approx 32500 miles. No issues.

Love these tires. Fitted them to multiple cars now. Ride comfort is superb. Very quiet. Wet grip is impressive. A really nice comfortable tire with nice progressive steering character. Would buy these tires everytime

I change all 4 tires replacing 3 years old continental premium contact 2 on my nissan. My car really feels more quite and ride like its on the carpet. Really impress with that. Wet performance miles better than the old conti, when go through water puddle, the car stay where it should be. Cons, steering less direct, body roll become more obvious.
