BMW 320d touring Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Continental WinterContact TS 870 P given 82% (225-40-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 average miles
An excellent winter tire, i had runflats on a BMW at the time, and these went up steep moutain roads that had no visible asphalt because they were covered in hard packed snow, no stones or salt down, in a storm at -19 degrees outside. Car felt grippy and did hairpin bends without needing to slow much from a sensible speed up snow covered roads which probably makes all the difference in being able to continue on up to destination.

Driving on a combination of roads for 14000 average miles
I have been using Goodyear Asymmetric in my all cars. Starting from A3 and A6 lately. My front A5 which I bought 4 years ago still has half of its life left when A6 fitted on the rear lasted only 14000 miles!

Excellent tire for little money, I will buy the same tires again. Good handling and grip on dry and wet roads. Good driving in snow and ice.

Amazing tire. On BMW 320d 190hp it lasted me allmoast 3 summers. When you floor it grips, and it gives feedback. Im going to order them again right about now.

Driving on mostly country roads for 3000 spirited miles
Having previously switched to winter tires but with the season getting milder, this year I went for these all season offerings from Avon. Truly disappointed. OK on dry roads regardless of temp & excellent in proper wet, otherwise rubbish. Milder damp roads they're truly terrible, with little effort it's easy to get the car out of shape, same can be said for the ice & light snow I've experienced. Suspect my summers would perform just as well, if not better...

Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 average miles
Before buying these tires I had nexen eco hd plus but decided to upgrade to a premium tire i done research and Goodyear came out on top. Since having them the difference is brilliant grips very well in the wet and dry conditions just as good the rolling resistance is great and noticed better fuel economy as for wear I've only done 1000 miles but from other reviews I'm sure they'll live upto their reputation.

They were very grippy tires that wore evenly. I wouldn’t buy again because the rear left was finished after 9,000 miles.

After going back to 16s from 225/40 /18s I found the steering to be a bit vague.the wet braking is spot on though and inspires confidence along with a much better ride on our horrendous UK roads. Very quiet and comfortable and I'm sure I'll be getting them again, good job goodyear. I drive at average speed but do like a late night blast and do around 20k a year.

Snow tire not winter tire, they are all over the place on dry roads, but on the snow (REAR WHEEL DRIVE) they climbed up a totally covered forest road effortlessly. Any review stating these are bad tires with no feel etc etc, is right about feel but they are fantastic tires when used for what they are designed. The hundred of grooves and cuts in the tread pattern will never provide the grip of a summer tread.
But to be able to remove water and slush on a motorway in rear wheel drive at 60-70+mph, or along snow covered highland roads, whilst keeping the car balanced and predictable on snow, is a tire that gets my money time and time again!

Braking distance on snow is great too, even in a heavy car...

I was too lazy to change them for summer so I’ve worn out the rears fully after 15000 miles, fronts are maybe 60% gone but still enough tread and grip for cold icy roads (tested)

Is is average in ICE, but pretty brilliant on snow.
