BMW 320i Msport Tire Review Highlights

In my 25 years of driving, I've tried every premium brand and various UHP models within each brand. I've also tried a few mid-range brands. Continental still remains my first choice as it's the only brand that has consistently never lost traction be it dry/wet or hot/cold. I've used Sport Contact 2, 3 and 5P in the past. They never let me down. These SC6 were just as good and surprisingly much better on wear. All previous SC's had a high wear rate and would normally wear out around 10k miles. All other premium brands would last longer. But somehow I've managed to get 23k miles out of the SC6 and still have 2.5mm remaining so it seems I'll get a few more thousand miles out of them until they reach the legal limit. This is the most I've ever got out of any tire which baffles me as I wasn't expecting it.
Now that they are down to 2.5mm and Spring has started (UK), I can't comment on what they'd be like in Winter towards the end of their life but I suspect no summer tire would be so great. This Winter just finished they still performed excellent at around 3mm.
The SC6 (non OE spec) sit nicely on the wheel (265 tire on a 9j wheel). I don't like tires that curve in on the shoulders, I like them to sit flat and flush with the wheel for a more square look and these do that. The wheel protection isn't great but being low profile tires, it would be impossible not to destroy the wheel anyway.
I believe the SC6 is only available in rim sizes of 19 inch and above so it gives you a good feeling that you've got something that isn't available to everyone.
Going forward, if I was to buy any tire to replace these right now, I'd buy the newer SC7 to try out. It depends what you're looking for, I'm going by handling and grip performance. But if you're looking for the better value for money then there are other brands with good performance for example the Goodyear Eagle F1 (I've used Asymmetric 1, 2 and 3). Michelin, Bridgestone and Pirelli were also well balanced so from my experience you can't really go wrong with any premium brand if you drive according to the weather conditions. The only one I wouldn't buy again is Dunlop (I tried SportMaxx GT and RT) as they were terrible in the wet and cold.

Writing about the Pirelli P Zero PZ4 given 70% (235-35-19-)

Great tires. I've used Pzero Nero and Pzero in the past and these PZ4 are better. These gave me confidence to go faster. I had the HN spec tires. I found the sidewalls a bit stiff so they weren't that comfortable but as a result the handling was better. Also the side wall in this HN spec curve in a lot which I didn't like but they still had a rim protector. Overall I enjoyed thrashing my car with these. One downside is they started cracking inbetween the tread when I still had 5mm on them. They had been on my car for 2 years and 10k miles. Upon inspection of the manufacture date, they were just over 4 years old so I wouldn't expect them to crack so soon. I wouldn't buy these again as I never buy the same tire twice, I always like to try something new. But I would recommend these to others if the price is right and the manufacture date is no older than 2 years.

Writing about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 given 89% (255-35-19-W)

I have used Asymmetric and Asymmetric 2 in the past and never been disappointed so therefore I purchased the Asymmetric 3 without a second thought. They've been on my car for 1 year and 9 months and I average around 8k miles a year and they still have around 5mm tread all around. For me this is impressive as normally I go through rear tires (rear wheel drive) on a yearly basis. I would highly recommend these if you're looking for a mileage tire and a good all rounder. I can only recall loss of traction on 3 occasions in almost 2 years and this was only in the cold. You cannot go wrong with these tires. They are comfortable and Goodyear pricing is very reasonable compared to the other premium brands. Continental is still my favourite brand but this is purely based on grip but Goodyear beats it in everything else. In my 21 years of driving and being a wheel whore, I have used all the premium brands and many mid-range brands. If I was to make a sensible recommendation, I would recommend these every time.

Those are the worst an dangerous tires ive ever put on my car... Highway driving is ok on a dry day till I hit a curve the car Wobbles have to correct the steering just to hold my line like I'm trying to drift..had the traction control light turning at crusing speed. Had to return them in less than 48 hours after buying them, an spend a bit more for a well know brand... tires seem flat an the firewalls are too soft... These tires a cheap for a reason if u value your life and your family stay well clear of them

Writing about the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti given 85% (255-35-19-W)

My brother used to swear by the older Sessanta on his car so I thought I'd give these newer Vorti a try. I used these on a rear wheel drive car. The side wall looks good, offers lip protection and is not rounded like some other brands. I only had them on the car for 8 months then sold my wheels with the tires on. After 8 months and about 7000 miles they still had 6-7mm on them so wear rate looks very good. I can't fault them. I never lost traction in both the wet and dry. I put Goodyear on my new wheels and the Goodyear give a smoother, quieter and more comfortable ride. The Goodyear aren't expensive so I prefer them but if the Vredestein come up at a good price in future I would consider them again.

Writing about the Yokohama Advan Sport V105S given 82% (235-35-19-W)

I used these on the front of a rear wheel drive car (rears were a different brand). I like the way these sit on the wheel. The side wall was straight and flush with the wheel instead of rounded like some other brands. I only had them on the car for 8 months (so can't comment on wear) then sold my wheels with the tires on. Everything about them was good. Although my previous Continental gave me better confidence in the wet, the Yokohama didn't slip or slide either. In the dry they felt better than the Continental so not worth paying the premium price for Continental. I put Goodyear on my new wheels and the Goodyear give a smoother, quieter and more comfortable ride as well as better steering response. The Goodyear aren't as expensive as Continental so if the Goodyear and Yokohama are a similar price I would go for Goodyear. All in all if the Yokohama come up at a good price in future I would definitely buy them again. I've had a good experience with some older Yokohama pattern years ago too.

I have tried all premium brands and Continental and Goodyear are my favourites. I've used the older Sport Contact 2 and 3 and loved them. Unfortunately I didn't have these 5P on my car for long as I ended up changing the wheels but for the few months they were on there they didn't disappoint. Definitely one of the best tires I've used for grip. I had Sport Contact 6 on the other axle and they were also great. I like to try new tires but will always buy Continental too.

I only had these on my car for about 3 months as I got a puncture which could not be repaired. In those 3 months I found these tires to be good in the dry however in cold conditions these lose traction. For that reason I won't be buying Dunlop again. I also previously had Sport Maxx GT which were the same, great in the dry but not so good in the wet.

Bought these as a replacement for Goodyear f2 asymmetric which lasted only 3000 miles!!! These tires are fine in the dry but the slightest bit of moisture on the road and it's like driving on ice!!! Only been on my rear wheel drive bmw for 2 weeks and they have to go! Even driving in a straight line on the motorway at about 60mph feels unsafe!!!

these are dangerous just borrowed a family members car with these on the front and it is non stop bum clenchinbg moments i have the same car with pirelli p zero on the fronts and it is a completely different drive. These should not be legal !
