Fiat Punto Mk2b Sporting 1.4 Tire Review Highlights

After 3 seasons of using them, these tires are showing a lot of problems in areas that they were excellent at before. Although the wear of the tires is excellent, they are seriously lacking performance in wet and snow after 3 years of using them (only using them over winter months). Tires are hard as a rock now even though they have about 5.5mm depth still on the threads. Still, they never failed me so far unlike other brands that I used before, so for a budget tire, I am giving them huge thumbs up

Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
This is my second review of these tires. After an additional 10,000 km (in addition to the previous 7,500km) these tires are showing their biggest weakness. And that is the material that is made of. So close to 20,000 on these tires, and they started to feel and look like they are made of plastic. To be fair, I am not surprised at this price point, but if the temperature falls below 15c, these tires are rock solid, plastic-like feeling. Had a couple of close calls, all of them on braking with streets being a bit wet, so forced me to fit back on my winter tires. With that as well, the noise level increased by a lot, where it became really annoying on highways and especially under braking (making a really strange noise, tested on winter tires, that sound is gone) With all of that said, in dry and wet summer weather, I had absolutely zero issues, comfort was okay, handling, responsive..all of them are okay, just like mention before, the more the tire wears, the noise of it increases. Still, having driven a bunch of budget tires, this one was one of the better ones. As for buying it again...I highly doubt it. I have to check on their behavior next year to conclude that. Again, If you are in the market for buying budget summer tires, and looking to get decent performance on hot summer dry and wet roads, this is a great option for you, if you don't mind the noise level.

Driving on mostly country roads for 400 spirited miles
I am really impressed with these tires. For the price the dry grip is quite surprising and in the wet thay are not too bad either. The only thing that I would say is that the sidewall is quite soft, however they still give you a lot of confidencw in corners.

Driving on mostly country roads for 7000 average miles
Had a tight budget for my summer tires so I decided to buy and put these tires on mainly due to price. I was quite surprised by the performance of these, having very good experience with them on dry and wet.
What I as well noticed that they really soft tires. Especially the sidewall. You can feel it in the corners at higher speed.
Wear looks pretty okay for roughly 7000 miles.
Conclusion, if you are on a tight budget, I recommend this tire. You get pretty decent performance for the cost of them

Very good budget tire. Excellent grip in dry, wet and snow. Wear seems pretty good.

Only downside for me is the noise.

Recommend this tire if you are on a tight budget.

It's been 5 years wearing the pirellis after 12 years wearing Michelin pilot exalto and I'm very pleased with the quality and durability of these tires, so I will buy them again. They grip well on dry and wet roads (Greek roads are for tires testing the best). Hope I have helped you.. 😆

Driving on a combination of roads for 60 spirited miles
This is the initial review of them after driven 60 miles (30 on dry and extreme hot weather of Greece on a mountain road and 30 on a very wet motorway with lots of trapped water - perfect for testing aquaplanning).

I substituted 4 Michelin PS3 that had been on the car for 2 1/2 years and 47500 km (30000 miles). They were awful after 10-15k, although the thread depth was within the legal limit. Actually the rear had plenty left. They were really performing bad on the hot dry tarmac during the Greek summer. Were awful last year, still awful this year :p

Barum are as expected, not a sport tire, extremely good initial grip, good aquaplaning resistance and very comfortable ride as they are quite soft. You can easily drive fast with these, just the handling is not as great as with a stiffer sidewall tire.

Driving on mostly country roads for 10 average miles
Good tires performing well on snow, but i wont buy them again the tires are pretty unexpecteble on wet and rainy roads. I get wheelspin starts when i try to accelerate quikly on damp roads. My continental sport contact 3 tire's are performing better on wet dampy roads.
The wear of the tires is verry good the last a long time!
