Fiat Seicento 1.1 MPI FIRE (sporting) Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Uniroyal RainExpert 3 given 75% (155-65-13-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 easy going miles
I drive a Seicento Sporting but due to lack of good tires in 165/55r13, I have chosen to go to 155/65r13 which is a dimension with more and better choices. Uniroyals Rain Expert 3 were chosen based on their wet handling and small price difference compared to budget tires. I also tend to choose newer designs thinking that there must be some improvement compared to older designs offered by the same manufacturer or by other brands (I had Barum Brillantis 2 before the Uniroyals) I am satisfied with this choice as it provided what I was expecting, good wet handling and decent dry handling accompanied with little wear (allthough that was never going to be a problem with a light and underpowered car like the Seicento). I miss the feeling that the lower profile tire provides but I drive a little less aggressive as I get older. Will I buy them again? It depends whether there is a better tire in 155/65r13 or a safe tire in 165/55r13 when they have to be replaced.

Driving on mostly country roads for 500 average miles
I decided to try these tires after a positice experience with a set of Falken summer tires, the sincera sn832 ecorun.

I found these pretty good especially on dry and wet roads, they have good grip and the steering response is nearly as precise as the sn832.
Comfort and noise are more on the average side, but they seem to wear quite well at the moment. Snow performance is quite good but not fantastic.

In summary this tire is quite dynamic and more dry/wet oriented. I would especially recommend them for milder climates where snow is rarer.

For small sizes (12"/13"/14"), only a few manufacturers develop good tires with modern technologies. These are one of those, and it shows. Grip is really good on both dry and wet roads. While the sidewalls aren't as firm as i would have liked, the outer shoulder blocks in the tread are rigid enough to provide a good steering response and stable cornering. In the wet they are probably the best tires for this size, also proved by the A class EU rating for wet braking. In my opinion comfort is just slighty above average. I won't judge wear or fuel consumption, as i haven't used them a lot.

In summary, while these can't be considered sporty/high performance tires (155/70 r13 is not a sporty size), they are miles away from the eco/long life models available in this size, in terms of grip/handling/feedback. I highly recommended them.

Good tire for the price. At this size it was only this or the Pirelli P 700z. The Pirelli is a 1995 design so i chose the Nankang. Got theme after some 175/50/13 Yokohama A539. I believe the lack of grip in the wet is due to wear as i dont remember i had any wet grip problems when the tires were new.
