2017-10-24 - What is the difference between the Nankang TS611 and XR611 tires.
As far as I'm aware there isn't officially as TS611 pattern in Europe, only XR611.
2019-02-19 - What is the difference between Nankang XR611 and Nankang Toursport 611, because tire tread looks exactly the same. XR611 is just next generation of Toursport 611?
I had to ask Nankang, this is the answer:
They are the same tire, the tire is called Toursport XR-611 however is Europe they have been known to call it the TS-611
It’s a dated tire now, I class it more of a retro style tire as it is more suited to older vehicles than new. I can only see 6 sizes listed in stock in the UK now, it has been replaced by the NA-1 / ECO-2+ in the majority of sizes, only some odd / niche sizes remain in XR-611
2021-01-25 - Hello from Greece. I am interested to fit Nankang xr611 to my car, (225 50 r15). Surfing through your, very interesting site for reviews, I saw the braking test, of the year 2015, with your comments. The wet braking for the Pirelli is 47.5m and for the Nankang 60.3m, according to the test. So the difference is 12.8m and not 26.6m, as it is written. The xr611 is a m+s tire, and as such, beats the summer tires to the dry braking and it is on par to the all weather tires to the wet braking. For an unknown, to me, reason, some times the label of the xr611 has the indication "m+s" and some other not. Here is my deeper analysis: http://www.vwsyncro.eu/p/passat-b3b4-syncro-tires.html Thank you for your time. The Syncro Heresy
Interesting analysis, thanks for sharing. It's worth noting that you can't compare results between tests, as water depth and surface grip can play a huge part in distances. Also, 12.8 meters is still a large gap, and the XR611 would certainly get out performed in the wet by a summer tire and hugely out performed in the snow by a premium all season tire. It might be M+S rated, but it is not 3 peak mountain snowflake symbol. The M+S marking is only there if the tire meets a certain "Land / Sea" ratio on the tread pattern which would explain why it's only on certain sizes.
