Mercedes Benz CLK 200K Advantgarde Cabriolet Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Uniroyal RainExpert 3 given 84% (245-40-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 13000 average miles
These tires were fitted to the rear of a Mercedes CLK 200 Kompressor. It is a staggered set up with 225/45 17 Uniroyal Rainsport 3’s on the front. All fitted at the same time, but the rears lasted just under 13,000 miles with the fronts still showing plenty of tread. The rears had worn slightly on the insides more, as the tracking was very slightly out. I wanted tires where wet grip was the priority. These tires were fantastic. Quiet, they were compliant, excellent wet grip and aquaplaning resistance. Even in wintry conditions, they were almost as good as an all-season tire. I was not bothered about the wear rate, and accepted these must be a softer compound.

Driving on a combination of roads for 16 spirited miles
I've had the set (4x 225/45/17) since summer 2015. So far, everything is excellent and even though I've done 16k miles the tires are keeping up to their initial sharpness and performance: the grip in the dry and in the wet is perfect, feeling very comfortable even when the driving is very spirited. Absolutely solid in the rain, no chance of aquaplaning. Excellent handling and feedback, very responsive, can make minimum mid-turn adjustments with extreme precision (the only better I've had is Yokohama AdvanSport because of the more rigid and thicker sidewall). Road noise and comfort are very decent, though could be slightly improved. Only "problem" is the wear (compared to previous Michelin Primacy HP) the Contis are not holding to my expectations, but still it's not extremely bad, I recon I'll manage to reach the 25k miles mark.

Will definitely buy again !

Driving on a combination of roads for 18000 average miles
Great tires. Gained good traction at all times and under harsh braking they gripped well. due to hard compund they lasted about 18000 miles with combo of town and motorway driving with the odd thrash through the country lanes. I do like these tires but availability can be an issue at times.
