My car had Continental SportContact 5, 225/40 R18 front tires and Falken Azenis FK510, 245/35 R18 rear tires and I replaced those tires with 4mm of tread remaining. These new tires give much, much better grip on wet and dry roads. My car now feels well balanced with lots of 'bite' in the steering. On mixed Motorway, A and B roads these new tires are very quiet indeed, with a little bit of hum at higher motorway speeds on rough surfaces. The tires do feel stiffer at low speeds on poor surfaces, but my usual passenger did not notice a difference. I have not driven in really heavy rain so I cannot comment on aquaplaning behaviour.

Standard size 245/40/17 in the rear and 225/17/45 in the front.
Previous tires, OEM Continental Sport 3 MO, very stable and good tires in dry, the very best high speed tires +200 km/t, medium wet grip, slightly reduced comfort and a little bit more road noise, poor wear.
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, good tires in general, best wet grip, medium comfort/noise, not quite as good and stable in high speeds +200 km/t, medium wear.
Michelin Pilot Sport 3 PS3, very surprisingly, very poor tires at least for this car, clumsy and heavy handling /performance, poor grip wet and dry, poor wear, slightly better comfort/noise level.
Continental Premium 6 are good tires in general but I expected somehow more from these tires.
Good grip in dry although I do not feel exactly the same confidence on the limits as with the old Continental CS3 or the Goodyear Asymmetric 2, probably slightly better grip but less perception of grip.
In general it is good grip in wet but they do not excel compared to the other tires I have used on this car and the Premium 6 are very sensitive to painted road marks on the road when it's wet, it slips rather suddenly and surprisingly.
And when braking hard on wet roads the ABS system very often connects with one or two initial "jumps" before the tires actually grips properly, even at very slow speeds, quite surprised about that.
I'm not sure if it's because they actually have very good grip that the ABS system connects, but anyway, the result is that it feels like a little bit longer braking distances in the wet.
And surprisingly they do not quite match the 100% stability of the Continental Sport 3 at high speeds +200 km/t, the CS3 are the King of very high speed on this car.
The comfort and road noise is slightly better than the other tires used on this car.
Good tires but not quite what I had expected and hoped for.

Mercedes 2009 Model SLK 350, Rear 245/40/17 Front 225/45/17.
Previous tires, Continental Sport 3 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2.
Positive sides for the Michelin are slightly better comfort and slightly lower noise level compared to previous tire brands.
For everyday normal driving I appreciate the slightly improved comfort, it is noticeable better.
Very little experience in the wet, they do seem to be acceptable but not more than that, the Michelin's do loose grip fast and early in wet corners/turns and I am not convinced in heavy rain, these Michelin's have a somewhat strange and unsafe feeling.
Dry grip is not what I expected, slightly less stable at high speeds, a "heavy" and "clumsy" steering feel and in general these Michelin tires makes my MB feel more like a truck than a sports-car.
The other tire brands, especially the Continentals, had a "light" and "agile" feeling, it is a huge disappointment to push these Michelin tires in any way.
In corners and in sharp turns these Michelin tires are "weird", they loose grip early and it is a slightly shaky/wobbly/tottering feeling at the limits, these Michelin tires do not feel safe at limits.
With the Continentals I felt 100% safe at Maximum speed, 250 km/h, I tried once with the Michelin's and I will never do that again, the Michelin's are a little bit "weird" and don't inspire me to push them.
To rule out any technical problem with the car my garage generously let me try some Continental Sport 5 and it was a rather huge difference, with the Continentals 5 it was 100% stable at high speeds, very grippy in corners/sharp turns, not a sign of wobbling or shaking.
The wear is about the same as the other brands, not very good but acceptable for this type of car.
I used to be a Michelin fan however these tires are a disappointment and I will not buy again, strangely I feel the same with other cars I recently have driven with new Michelin tires, it seems that nowadays other brands are noticeable/significantly better in almost every way, maybe with exception of comfort.

I had them for 2 years and 21k miles. I drove my car every day in all weather conditions, sometimes i push it hard, never had any problems.
I change them today and they still have 2mm of ruber, put new nexen su4 again.

Just fitted staggered amg wheels to my slk with new zz5s its a different car .cornering .is fantastic road noise down 75 percent car feels great with these tires and steering is much lighter .

Got them with a used car, 7mm left on all 4, 2 years old. This tire is mediocre in all of its properties, except for grip on slightly wet roads, which is rather on the bad side of things. I do appreciate when a car lets me feel that it has a life beyond the stability gadgets but the Sport Control is losing grip way too fast on corners with residue humidity on the road, from some rain 1hr ago.

Saving 100 bucks at the wrong end and buying cheap tires for anything better than a Corsa/Ka/Twingo class car is stupid and dangerous, even if the tires make it into the "mediocre" category somehow, like the Fulda Sport Control.

Amazing tires they replaced my conti ssr and wear is much better handling better price for price will definitely put these baby on again pretty surpised as a lot warned me about road noise but their is no issue there...

Because of good reviews/test results I bought these Goodyear tires after my original very good Continental Sport 3 was worn out, 245/40/17 on the rear and 225/45/17 on the front.
The Goodyears are good well balanced tires with very good grip both in wet and dry, I can't find anything bad to say about these tires.
Compared to the Continentals they are slightly better in the wet, slightly better comfort and noise-level, slightly better feeling/progressiveness on the limits especially on wet surface.
The Goodyears also has better traction both wet and dry.
I can not really compare wear yet but I think the rear tires has almost the same wear as the Continentals had, I'm a little surprised about that.
I did however prefer the Continentals on motorways/highways/autobahn, especially at very high speeds,(Max 250 km/h), the Goodyears are stable and safe at high speeds but they don't have that little extra "heavy" rock solid stability as the Continentals. I had a total confidence at very high speeds with the Continentals, the Goodyears don't give me that same total confidence but they are not bad in any way.
The Continentals also had a significantly better road feedback and a more precis steering, I miss that on the Goodyears although the Goodyears handles slightly better on the limits.
At all speeds I could "feel" the road better with the Continentals, the Goodyears are more "light and soft", it is really a matter of what the driver prefers, nothing is bad.
For city driving, normal daily use and for slightly better comfort I prefer Goodyear, for high speeds on highways/autobahn I prefer Continental Sport 3. Next year I expect to change tires again and I'm not sure which way to go but for this car I will probably choose high speed handling/stability before anything ells.
