Renault Renault Sport Megane 225 Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 given 89% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 3500 spirited miles
Fitted them on a sporty Renault Megane RS 225 and I was greatly surprised. The control is clear and responsive and general grip amazing. Pure cornering grip is outstanding even at high speeds.

Overall it is a great tire for ultimate dry grip and I believe that only semi-slicks and full slicks can offer more grip. Wet grip is also surprisingly good. Not so much on accelaration but cornering and control are still very predictable in the rain.

In my opinion, wear is surprisingly good for this class of tires.

To be honest I was really impressed until breaking on icy road. It was somewhere at mid January this year, road was dry but while I was at the end of a secondary road there was a 10 maybe 12 meters long icy road. I almos crack myself because I try to give way for the cars on the main road ( it was night time) I hit the breaks but no ABS was entering and tires were struggling to get a grip. Luckily I was doing 25 maybe 30 kph found myself on the first lane perpendicularly to the opposite traffic. No car was coming and I make the day.
Should I buy them again ? Guess no. Interesting TWI though.

I bought these as a substitute for Yokohama Parada Spec 2 and some average Bridgestone tires and all I can say is wow. The grip is phenomenal even in cold weather. They simply grip and grip without any hesitation. The steering feedback is also good and they are way more comfortable as the yokohamas.
I use them for road use only. I do not find them noisy, but the downside is that because of their composition, they pick up every little tiny rock they walk over. So if you plan using them, take my advice and do not use wider wheels or these tires will sandblast your car. Now that I am using them, I feel the need to buy some mud flaps to protect the paintwork of my car.

CSC 5 is an excellent tire if you are looking for good road performance and high safety manners, it is outstanding on the wet roads. Very low road noise. Do not attempt to use this tire on track as it has very soft sidewalls and only after 2 - 3 laps it develops ¨butter¨ kind of a feeling. After 22k km of mixed driving with one track day (two 10 min runs) front tires are down bellow limit of tread depth. If you are looking for a good all around tire that is capable for mild track use look elsewhere (PSS, AD08R...).
