Volkswagen Passat estate 2.0 TDI 110 kW Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin CrossClimate 2 given 80% (215-55-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 average miles
Cross climate 2 are great tires, I’ve been really happy with the performance of them. They give great grip in wet & dry conditions & are excellent in snow & ice with zero slippage. They feel really safe while driving, but not particularly fun to drive if you’re looking for that. They are quite & comfortable the perfect all rounder.
Mine lasted 25000 miles on the front axle (front wheel drive car) but the rears have plenty of life left so will probably last 50000 miles on the rear axel. Their performance has be rock solid until around 1mm above the wear line markers when the performance in cornering especially has really suffered just something to be aware of but not unexpected.

Writing about the Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2 given 48% (215-55-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 9000 average miles
This generation 2 vector 4 seasons tire seems to be compromised in too many areas.
Wet traction is especially poor leaving the car scrambling for grip under acceleration in wet conditions.
Comfort is poor with harsh ride and noise. Doesn’t help that they collect numerous small stones in the tread blocks.
Snow traction is adequate in fresh snow.
Traction on compacted snow is less than ideal but better than a summer tire.
Wear rate is low. I can’t wait to wear them out so that I can justify replacing them.

Writing about the Nexen WinGuard Sport 2 given 80% (235-45-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Initial Review. Good grip, noticebly higher rolling resistance, especially on the wet road. Therefor probably slighty higher fuel consumption. Satisfied for now, waiting for the first snow. I feel safe enough for now having these tires on.

Writing about the Falken ZIEX ZE310 EcoRun given 54% (235-45-18-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 average miles
Overal good tire: Wet handling very well Dry handling just good Brake distance nice The only very bad thing is that I replace the tires for winter ones and when I calculate the depth was 5mm new when I buy them 7,8mm So after 6 months and 10.000 thousand km mostly on highway

Got this tires with the car when I bought it. On dry roads the tires are comfortable with good (as good as it can be) feel an feel nice to drive. In the wet however they are borderline dangerous. Very low wet grip and very bed at wet braking. Can not recomend them. Nice day
