ADAC tire tests are some of the most influential in the world, and for the 2021 winter season ADAC have chosen to test eighteen 225/50 R17 tires and sixteen 195/65 R15 winter tires, across two tests. This article covers the 15" test, to see the 17" test please click here.

In this 15" winter tire test, the Goodyear Dunlop pairing performed impeccably in the snow, ice and on wet roads to tie for first place overall. 

Michelin and Vredestein were the best of the rest. The Michelin Alpin 6 was the strongest tire across the dry tests and had the lowest wear of all tires, and the new Vredestein performed well in all tests.

Sadly, ADAC doesn't share any actual data with the public, but their scoring and testing notes can be found below.

Results

The overall results were weighted 15% dry, 30% wet, 20% snow, 10% ice, 5% noise, 10% fuel consumption and 10% rolling resistance.
