165/70 13 Tire Review Highlights

Toyo NanoEnergy 3 rated 84% while driving a Opel Corsa
Driving on mostly country roads for 7000 average miles
Tires are pretty reliable on dry surfaces. Little weaker on wet but it can also be to the suspension. Overall very peased with the tire and would recomend it. Because i don't have the car to drive super aggressive but i tried to come to that stage and they stuck to road really good.
Hope this helps.

These are good for low speed city traffic. Road noise and comfort are medium. At high speeds and corner handling you literally feel like swinging while driving on four balloons due to softer side walls.

Snow: These tires are pure snow tires. Driving on snow is awesome - once I've tryed to go through really high snow like 40cm on dirt mountain road - the car was more likely sitting on snow by its bottom, rather than on tires and I was still able to drive it through.

Dry: The opposite of this value is handling on dry roads - the high, soft and small rubber blocks are acting more like a gelly when it comes to sporty drive. It still has a good grip, but it has nothing in common with precise driving. You can really hear the sound of rolling rubber blocks even in decent cornering or accelerating. But its kind of funny aspect of driving these tires :-)

Lifetime: I have two cars - one for winter and convertible for the summer, so i am wearing these tires all season, while driving only few 100 miles in the summer, but the tire still has an ability to stay for 3 to 4 seasons while driving arround 5000 miles a year.

Summary: I would recommend these tires for those who want to stay safe in mountains during the winter and accept its limitations during +0 degrees temperatures. Because I am buying them just for the snow, I am going to buy them for ever :D

PS: But please consider that every tire acts differently in different tire sizes! I was surprised how differently the same tire model could act on different cars. My review is for 165/70 R13 on car which weight is about 1000kg without driver.

Driving on mostly town for 300 average miles
I haven't covered a lot of miles in these tires but they are, as other reviews have pointed out, very quiet and comfortable. Handling is a luttle lacking compared to the old Michelin summer tires that were on the car, but overall the performance is pretty good. One thing that disappointed me greatly is that the tires in smaller sizes are manufactured in China! while the larger diameter ones are made in Europe. Definitely disappointing, we'll see how long they last.

Compared to Nokian Weatherproof tires it replaced it was a huge improvement in dry grip. The tires actually have more grip, than the construction can handle and the tires roll onto the sidewall under hard cornering, this is only an issue in the dry, but it is also the caused by 165/70 size, with extreme tall sidewall. But the breaking is super impressive, I drove it back to back in the wet with Michelin pilot Sport 2 tires on a Mercedes CLS 350 CDI and the little Daihatsu had a far superior braking performance, which surprised me. It is quiet until you start to push it, and is super comfortable.

Good grip on dry, but on the wet i had an overall bad experience. Due to an episode where while soft braking on a paved road on a rainy day these tires decided not to participate in braking and ended up going on a wall, i decided to change them, despite having almost all of thread left. Wear is not an issue, in 7000km i had them, they only lost way less than 1mm. Very comfortable on city roads and on highway. Definitely not buying again this model, i've used other toyo tires that are waaay better than these.

EXCELLENT tires! I have wore ContiEcoContact 3 and Michelin energy saver+ but the Falken Sincera are THE choice. Perfect cost/effective, reliable and gives you full confidence. I had wore them after the conti's for 50.000 km on every road possible, then turned to Michelins but after 10.000 km got back to the Falkens. The label (E fuel, A wet) are completely accurate. End of transmission!
