215/65 17 Tire Review Highlights

Cooper Discoverer ATT SUV rated 98% while driving a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk
Driving on a combination of roads for 45 spirited miles
At 45,000 miles on this set , no punctures , still performing like they are new even when hitting deep puddles , down to under half the tread they had when new , just awesome tires.

Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K125 rated 83% while driving a Hyundai Tucson
Driving on mostly country roads for 34000 average miles
I’ve used them for two summers in Sweden, driven about 55000km and they still have some useful tread left. None of the tires are below 4.5mm. They are more of an comfortable tire than a sporty but they grip well and have never let me down this far

Continental EcoContact 6 rated 81% while driving a Hyundai Tucson
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 average miles
Replacing these tires after 48.000 km and still 3.5 mm tread by Michelins. Had two punctures and found contiseal technology quite useful.

Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K125 rated 83% while driving a Hyundai Tucson
Driving on a combination of roads for 218000 average miles
I find these tires to be very comfortable, which is why I got them. I drive 200km to work, five days a week and I can’t find anything wrong with them so far. I’ve driven approximately 35000km since I bought this set and it has hardly worn at all and they have never disappointed

Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV rated 58% while driving a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk
Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 average miles
Bought this tire after reading some very positive tire tests for 4x4 suv's. Normally I drive all seasons from september until end of march because we have very moderate winter weather in the Netherlands. These Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV were put on a bit early at the end of februari because the allweathers were at their end.
This was a bit of a mistake..... These EfficientGrip 2 SUV don't like cold/rainy weather. I expected better grip but the car is sliding in corners and loses grip when driving away (high torque diesel). I really have to drive carefully in the rain because the Jeep Renegade awd system kicks in when the front loses grip.
In the dry these Goodyear are very good and comfortable. Perfect for holiday travels during the summer....

But i also use the Trailhawk on muddy gravel roads and wet grass meadows. In tire tests this EfficientGrip 2 SUV should be top of the range for "moderate off road use", but this is not my experience. No grip at all! So don't try to take a trailer into a meadow or on a bit muddy/wet gravel trail, you'll get stuck....
In my opinion this tire is probably best suitable for warmer regions.

Riken Riken Snow rated 88% while driving a Peugeot 3008
Driving on mostly town for 1000 average miles
I had previous experience with Riken winter tires and I was satisfied with that experience and bought them again. However, those tires are lower class, but for the money you invest, you get the best in that price range. For normal city use, they are quite good.

Update of my previous reviews , after 40.000 km , tread still at 3,5 mm

Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K125 rated 88% while driving a Hyundai Tucson
Driving on mostly country roads for 3500 average miles
Have driven about 5000km on them so far and I like the way it handles and the level of comfort. It’s rather soft tire, maybe having a wide sidewall reinforce that feeling, but it gives a feeling of control that suits me well

Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 rated 63% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan
Driving on mostly motorways for 4000 average miles
They feel very hard and rough ride, and are very noisy, particularly on coarse bitumen.

Yokohama BluEarth XT AE61 rated 62% while driving a Toyota Unknown
Driving on mostly motorways for 9000 average miles
When I am look tires for my newly buy used Alphard Hybrid, I was attracted by the ad saying the AE61 is quiet and comfortable. However after trying for 2 months 9000 km. I found it's comfortability and qietness only realize on those newly build road surface. In Japan most road is good but it it not the case in the rest of the world. It is bumpy and noisy on those aged road surface. Grip and handling is ok. Tire wall is too stiff. I will look for another brand after 50k km.

Continental EcoContact 6 rated 84% while driving a Hyundai Tucson
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
Confortable ride in all circumstances at reasonable speeds. Low noise , good mileage, low wear : after 30.000 KMS still 4.7 tread (6.5 new)

Michelin Primacy 3 rated 69% while driving a Opel Grandland X 1,5D
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
The tires lasted about 25,000 miles on my car, which I don't think is too good. Response was average, although braking on dry and wet roads did not cause problems. The biggest problems were keeping the car moving in a straight line on a rough road (probably due to the nature of the car itself). The handling of the tires on different surfaces (gravel, asphalt) was good.
