240/45 17 Tire Review Highlights

Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa rated 86% while driving a Ducati Diavel 1200
Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 spirited miles
An excellent affordable tire that doesn’t break the bank. It’s a pretty good tire for track days as well. I have Ducati diavel 1200 2018 and I got a set of these tires for £230 and 5000 miles. Gives you confidence in the rain and very good on the dry. A good all round tire.

Falken Azenis FK510 rated 87% while driving a Mercedes Benz E Class Estate
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 spirited miles
I fitted these to my 2003 E Class estate which has 306bhp and more torque. I regularly drive through Europe and on the autobahn at high speeds also. I tend to wear summer tires from April thru November.

I have covered about 20,000 miles - in all conditions in many countries through Europe - including a stormy drive over the Col du Galibier at 2,642m(!) with them and I can confirm that they are excellent in all conditions. Surefooted, predictable and stable at speed. They are also comfortable, though perhaps they are a little noiser than the previous Continental Premium Contact MO spec that I had, but not to a significant degree.

My purchase was based on the tests from AutoBild and Autocar, which were on 17". These tires are good value too and four tires cost the same as the equivalent Michelin Pilot Sport 4s.

Michelin CrossClimate Plus rated 97% while driving a Vauxhall Meriva
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
Just had these fitted and driven on snow and ice over the last couple of weeks. I have a very steep drive that normally causes loss of traction at the slightest sign of snow or ice. The CrossClimate plus felt like driving on a dry road and showed no sign of traction loss either up or down. So confident on them I had to keep reminding myself of the road conditions. In a word Fantastic!. Would highly recommend.

Continental Sport Contact 3 rated 71% while driving a Toyota Mark X
Driving on a combination of roads for 28000 spirited miles
Decent UHP tire but already old model and therefore comparatively not as good performance anymore compared to F1D5, F1A2, and CSC5. Dry & wet performance is not as good as those others I've used/am using now, but still pretty decent and still is a true UHP tire and better than many other tires in the lower performance categories or those cheapo brands, certainly still well beyond most normal drivers ability to push, and reasonably well controlled over the limit. Comfort wise, it's good ride quality, maybe a bit noisy only. Wear rate is the same as CSC5, so it wore out a bit faster, lasting over 40k km for my driving but with minimal chipping only, not as much as the F1D5.
