I have used these tires now for about 2 years now. I was worried at first as I'm NOT a huge fan of trialing out tires from what I know works! I tried NS2R's and they were rubbish in light cold mornings and nearly crashed as they slipped out on me after a 30 mile drive! so those went and will NEVER get touched again!

Im a die hard Vredestein fan, from the sessanta's to the vorti's they do it all inc track days but do have limits on track days! its my go to tire for road use ALWAYS!!!

So after some heavy reading and reviews I decided to trial these 651 sports out for summer. when I got them on and they got worn in I liked what i was feeling with the stiff sidewall and response was great. I was mostly using them for my track wheels but on the roads so I knew what to expect from them.

Dry handling is epic! they handle well and grip like you want them to, there is no moving of the tires sidewall so everything is direct and precise.

Wet handling is also pretty good to be fair, IT DOES HATE standing water! but what track tire don't! they can handle well in the rain and once i got over my fear for my first wet drive they really shocked me as to how well they grip in the wet and brake under real hard testing without being able to lock them up much, you will see some cornering grip loss of course. if you go over 80mph they can float a bit on the water surface if its raining hard. light rain seems to not bother them really

I generally get 1, 9 month use out of the fronts ( 10k miles ish ) and then i can re use the rears next year BUT they do crack easily the following year you use them so you will possibly not get 2 full years from them without replacing them sooner, that's the ONLY downside really for the price. I swap rears to front the next year and then replace after a few months for new ones and then the rears to the front again and so on and so on.

it works out cheaper to buy good road tires for 2 - 4 years vs buying these for normal road use over 2 years. so bare this in mind!
But since this is a track tire you likely will need it for 1 year and that's all if you get them to last.

I find these do follow road gaps more then normal tires but that's ok and just keep hands on the wheel more.

I would and do buy these again and again each year for my non OEM wheels i run most of summer time. its a great tire to run and use and you really wont be disappointed in them. Wait for sales if you can as they do 20-30% sometimes off the tires which is nice and makes them even more of great value to run

Thought I would leave a review as I had a set on a mk4 rs clio which I then used on my mk4 rs megane trophy. On the clio which is about 1200kg these tires were fantastic on track (oulton park UK). However on my megane around 1550kg although they were 100% controllable and "fun" even in the dry on the same track they squealed and I could not get heat into the fronts and slowed me massively in the corners. Admittedly 235 40 18 would be the correct size, i would conclude that because of the extra weight of the meg (500kg) these are are more suited to 1200kg max cars and below. Incredible value for money still.

The Accelera 651 Sport is marketed as an All-Around multipurpose semi-slick; capable of enduring the demands of performance driving while also providing good road manners. I did not find this to be the case.

This review comes after having had two sets of these tires(2k miles each) in their 200 Treadwear compound fitted to my 290hp big turbo Abarth 500; each time only enduring one trackday before being rendered useless. Tire temperatures were monitored and pressures were set to 30PSI hot, front and rear for trackdays. 30PSI cold for road use.

Dry grip was comparable to a budget road tire, non-existent and inconsistent. On track they displayed a significant oversteer bias with inconsistent front axle grip and really rather soft sidewalls for a semi-slick. The surface of the tires wore quite heavily on the inside edge, suggesting they are not suited to aggressive front end alignments in "grip" use, front axle camber was set to -3.5 degrees, backed off to -1.7 after multiple laps. Rear axle camber was -0.5, rear tires wore reasonably evenly.

In the wet these tires offer about 70% of the grip they have in the dry, suggesting the tread pattern is really rather good at evacuating water and the compound is not too terribly temperature sensitive.

Speaking of temperature, these tires withstood multiple heat cycles with no real drop in performance over their lifespan, so(as suggested by the website) would probably make very good rear axle tires for high power drift cars. Minimal feathering was observed by the end of each trackday.

On the road, these were extremely noisy(even more so than any other track tire I've ever used), wore at an accelerated rate, were very squirrely in the wet at 50% and below tread depth and despite having soft sidewalls for track use were extremely stiff on the road.

I would recommend the 651 Sport if you are needing an *extremely* affordable semi-slick on the rear axle of a front wheel drive track car or are trying to encourage oversteer in a FWD track car. Otherwise, you would be better served by the Nankang NS2R 180TW tire in similar sizing which has longer life, better grip, better feedback, is less sensitive to aggressive geometry and has similar heat management.

Bought these after switching from a Miata. I didn't want to spend $800+ on autocross tires, and knew some people who ran these at autocross.
In the dry, these tires grip. Hard to say objectively, since I haven't had any other 200TW tires on the E46 but these tires out gripped my NB Miata on Falken RT660s (measured by speedometer around the same 4 leaf clover). I felt that they handled both fun road driving and autocross very well.

In the wet, these things love to hydroplane. If you get into any standing water, slow down. Though, that's kind of expected with the cheaper 200TW (had similar problems on a set of GT Radial SX2s) segment. I never had these problems on my Falkens (admittedly they were 50mm narrower).

Tire wear was also not great, but I suspect that was partially due to my alignment settings.

They are much louder than my winter tires on the same car, but not a deal breaker for cheap 200TW tires.

For the price, I don't think you're going to beat these. Grip way better than my old GT Radials, and are dirt cheap. Unless you're ultra competitive in your class, I say go for them.

Great tire for the money. If you buy these when they're on a deal from tirestreets in the UK you can't beat them got the entire set of 4 for £220. I don't do track days etc but for driving daily and bit of B road fun they're great.

Bought the extra 100tw tires for hillclimbs and sprints, they had good grip but was a little unpredictable on the limit, a little grippier than the Michelin ps3 tires I was using before but not any real difference in the times from being a 1b list tire. It’s a good tire for the price of them, there are better but then again at twice the price.

Had these tires on my megane rs250 and wow blown me away these were the 200 compound, on motorway there is a little tire noise but turn radio up thats gone but trackdays,jesus these tires for the money are outstanding, cadwell park in the wet is alway a challenging track, and this is true i could drive the car 80% flat out in the wet , braking, corning it was mental, then the day dry out and the car come was amazing, and in the gooseneck part of the track thr car was effortless and rapid. Drove home on tires and coul still use them again , so great for the money

When the tire is new, its not grippy till its properly runned in. The tire also takes longer to warm up compared to others same categories tire, it doesn’t overheat easily due to harder rubber compounds which also gives slower wear and more mileage to the tire. Due to its extremely hard sidewall, even harder then ad08r, Its a heavy tire. It performs well on wet, best ehp tire on wet i would say. The dry grip is good but not on intensive driving style. The tire will really grips when its properly warmed up, which is not easy unless you did a few warm up run before really whacking the corners. The feedback of the tires is great that you can almost few every uneven surface of the road. Road noise not really if you has a loud car like mine :) If you would like the daily your car with a ehp tire and not emptied your pockets, this is the tire to go for. For the price of rm1300 for 4 265/35/18 it’s definitely bang for a buck! Its one of the best budget ehp tire out there in the market, worth a try if you are still new to ehp tire.
