These were fitted on the front of my car to replace worn Cooper Zeon XTCs, and was dissapointed. The wet was more of a bother. There were some junctions in the wet getting away from was a nightmare and you just got wheel spin- and im not 'concrete right foot' or a boy racer but you need the confidence there to know you'll be safe. The Avons did wear very well. Dont remember them being too noisy.

Had these on for less than a week and took them off. Had Kumho Ecsta Le Sport XL on before and found these a big downgrade. Found I had more brake travel and took away the confidence the Kuhmo's gave.The sidewall looks a bit crap too. Upgraded to Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's,even better than the Kumho's

Fitted these three to my BMW 520D and am really impressed. Road holding is great and there is really good steering feedback through the bends. Turn in is crisp and the tires really impart a sense of safety.

Grip is good in both wet and dry conditions and I am pleased to report that road noise is very quiet indeed.
Ride is very comfortable as well. Overall this is a very good quality tire that matches the characteristics of my BMW very well. Good value as well with 50% off second tire deals available in the high st.

7/4/2013. I drive a (standard) Toyota Celica 7th Gen 140bhp vvti. Oddly perhaps, I think that these tires perform better in the wet than they do in the dry. I say this because in the dry it is much easier to drive quicker and find the limit, and on that limit the tires may as well be made of Bakelite, but what you come to realise is that you are carrying quite a lot of speed into the corners so in terms of price/performance it is quite acceptable. In the wet they are very good, surprisingly good, there seems to be acres of grip, probably down to the hefty amount of sipes - the ZV5 is a good all-season tire. I had quite a lot of grip in the snow (2-4 inches of ) too. The good thing about these tires are that they provide good feedback and are quite controllable on the limit - although much of this may be down to my Celica handling setup (which is as the day it left the factory). Whilst in terms of dry grip I much prefer other tires (such as Pirelli's) - what surprised me was the wear rate of the Avons, after 2 years/25k of enthusiastic (A-road and dual carriageway) driving I still had 3mm of tread on the front, and 6mm on the rear - I didn't even get an MoT advisory on them like i was expecting. Again, this may be attributed to the Celica being quite kind to tires as it is quite a light and low car. However, I have bought a pair of fresh tires for the front and again went for the ZV5s, whilst they may not be the very best tire, the level of grip coupled to the low wear rate means that these are very good value for money in my opinion. Recommended!

I have these tires on only because they came with the car when I bought it. Even with four wheel drive the front tires (Avon zv5) manage to slip on bends at speeds even my 2008 mondeo hatchback could get around with ease. How ever the rubber compound in the Avons are to hard in a budgety attemp to prolong longetivity and greater fuel economy. Vastly sacrificing grip on even dry roads. Ever thought you could recieve grande under steer in an Audi quattro( infamous on grip)? Buy Avons. Yes I know they are mid range. But so are falkens, vredestiens and lots more.... Therefore these should be demoted to budget, along with other tires that have fashionable patterns instead of grippy tread. Apologies for the bluntness of my review but is needed to persuade people to go for actual mid range or better, premium.

After 12 months and 12k miles the Avon ZV5 on the rear of Ford focus TDI Zetec are needing replaced. very disappointed at wear rate would have expected double the mileage as experienced with other brands. I certainly will not be buying tires with this tread pattern again. Majority of driving has been on A85

These tires lasted just 3,000 miles on the back of a front wheel drive car. They were not cheap so I contacted Avon who has the most brilliant customer service. Within 24 hours they had arranged for me to have a 4 ZZ3 fitted free of charge.

The tire didn't work for me but Avon looked after me so well. They sent a rep down to the tire place to collect the tires and be sure the fresh ones were fitted FOC. Only 2 were worn but they replaced 4.

I doubt the result would have been the same if they were a Eastern European or Asian manufacturer.

Good safe mid range tire. Used on a big people carrier and towing a 1.5 ton caravan.

I have experienced many tires of the years of different sizes on different vehicles, but the Avon's ZV5 are in a class of thier own. On my Quattro A3 the car in normally front wheel drive until the electronics experiance wheel slip and then send power to the rears as well. This used to happen a lot but these tires grip so much I hardly ever see the traction control light come on. I am very hard on tires, with a mix of A roads and back roads and as my car has been chipped to 210bhp I am always driving it like I stole it! The previous tires were Pirelli P Zero's and although the rears were doing well, the fronts wore out in less than 8k miles and although they had an A rating for wet grip and these are a C, I recon these are far better. I highly recomend these to all and at this price, they are a real bargin.

Just bought my second pair for the front of my Volvo V40 and still running a two year old pair on the rear. The front ones were worn because of a worn suspension bush or I would still be on the first set. These tires wear well and as expected noise and grip become worse with age. I have tried many tires in my time but these are one of the best all rounders. My car is remapped for more power and has lowered suspension and it is driven hard. I have already bought my second pair for the front so as you will guess I like these tires!

Just put these on the front of my Rover 25. Already driven in both dry and wet conditions and these tires are a blessing compared to the budget brand previously fitted. Over 30 years of driving and having driven as a chauffeur in some of the worlds most luxury powerful cars I know my tires. So far, these tires are proving to be an excellent choice.

These replaced Continental Sport Contacts on a Volvo V50 Sport estate. At first the tires were quiet and provided good wet and dry grip. Dry grip felt good on mostly A and B roads and occasional motorway use. However, with wear, the tires became increasingly noisy and wet cornering felt less secure. Let's face the facts - this is a family estate with fwd and driven mainly by my light-footed wife. The tires had a decent wear range and lasted approx 10,000 miles, which by British standards on A/B roads is pretty good. Overall, a decent tire, and I would likely replace these with the same if the price were more competetive. Given the choices available in this price point, and the higher rating, I will try the Falken ZE912 and review those at a later date.
