Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
Out of necessity I had to go with Maxtrek Maximus M2 tires. They’re absolute garbage heavy vehicles like BMW 5er. They’re on rear axil and just does tail spin all the time while negotiating roundabouts in wet conditions. I’m so scared to go at 80 in wet conditions. NEVER AGAIN.

this tire is on my bmw 520 and they are very god on wet and on dry, good road feedback, 15.000 km done with this tire and they are ok.

Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 average miles
I bought these tires in March. I'll start with the negative feedback. After 10,000 miles on a BMW 520d, I have 4-5mm tread left on them. I think I will have them for another 5000 miles until I have to change them. Compared to Michelin Cross Climate, which I had for 25,000 miles on a BMW 320d, these ones wear too soon. I have tested them on snow only for a bit while I got caught by the Welsh weather. :D They act good. I had grip and good control of the car. In spring/summer conditions they are almost like a summer tire: great grip, handling and short breaking distance. Overall I'm happy with their performance, but not with their wear, considering I'm doing 90% of miles on motorways.

Writing about the Vredestein Quatrac Pro Plus given 92% (245-45-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 average miles
I fitted these tires two months ago and drove them for about 5000 miles on different types of roads, from city traffic to highways. I find the tires to be very quiet, although they came to replace some pretty much worn-out Michelin RFTs so my feeling might be a little biased.
Although I didn't get to drive them in winter temps yet, they seem to stick to the road very well for summer driving. They felt planted at speeds up to 120 mph (didn't take them further than that so can't tell), but a little slippery in corner acceleration on twisty roads, particularly on hot tarmac.
I am not worried about winter performance as I've run Vredesteins before and I trust the brand mainly for winter capabilities.
Overall I find them reasonable as a year-round alternative and will wait to see if I can get more than a year's worth out of them.

Writing about the Viking Protech Newgen given 87% (225-50-17-)

Coming out from some great Michelin Primacy RUNFLAT tires I opted for these Viking ProTech NewGen, as one of my friends with a Mercedes E Klasse recommended them to me as reliable for normal use. I can say I like switching from RUNFLAT to normal tires as they are not so loud and are softer on normal city roads with the car suspension. After cca. 9000 miles or 13000+ km I can say the tires are reliable and a great choice for the money (I paid ≈ 75 EUR/tire). They feel great, braking is good in dry and wet, handling just find in rain. The only thing I can say they are a bit loud on the highway driving at 130 km/hr or 80 miles/hr. Took them on long roads for summer vacation, 2500 km round trip and no complaints here. Would definitely consider them again.

My initial review is here somewhere but I can not find it to edit it.

End of life review: so, I bought these in May 2020 for la 5 series 520d with 177hp, rwd. I used them by rotation, for 3 summers and aprox 30-35k km on mixed roads. I planned to use them this summer as well, two of them had 4mm and the other two had 6mm, but, even if I properly stored them, had correct pressure in them and so, they show advance aging https:// imgur. com /a/BoXRfVW (remove spaces) which never happened to previous 4 sets of GY that I had on different cars for even 4-5 years/set, but also, never had GY UHP tires before.
I replaced them with Hankook Prime 4, as I wasn't feeling safe with them anymore and also they became very noisy but still with a good grip both on dry and wet.
Not sure if I will buy any other GY anytime soon.

Writing about the Nankang Sportnex AS2 Plus given 82% (275-35-19-)

I left a review before on the AS 2 but my tires are the new AS2 Plus - my error! So I have 19'' wheels and tires are large 275's at rear.....got to say so far so good. Had Falkens before and liked them but local garage said try these - and have to say they ride well / noise no issues / wet so far so good but have not been on really wet roads yet. Tire wear can't comment yet either but will do later. So in summary for £170 runflats on a 5 Series 19'' wheels I'm delighted........yes you get what you pay for but you can also get good value for money and these tick that box.

Writing about the Nankang AS2 given 80% (275-35-19-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
I drive a BMW 5 Series (17 plate) & rear runflats are expensive as I have 19'' wheels. Tried Falkens and was very happy with them but my local garage said try these.....and so far so good. These are big tires being 275 wide - cost wise £170 each fitted which is very good for Runflats of this size 19''. Drive seems fine / noise, no issues / wet handling not really tested so far but roads were wet this morning and had no problems, they are A Rated for wet so should be ok....wear only time will tell but as I'm retired my days of pounding motorways are over but I still enjoy driving my car and tires are very very important.......yes you get what you pay for generally but you can also get good value and to date these Nankang's seem good value for money.

I purchased my 5 series with budget tires on them and cannot believe the difference these tires have made. The car felt vague in all departments and now is extremely sure footed and dynamic. Completely transformed my driving experience and couldn’t be happier

Hi there, I've been driving the tires for 6 thousand kilometers and they are the first all-season tires I've ever driven. All in all, I find this tire to be a great compromise in relation to price and performance/driving characteristics. When it comes to dry and wet grip (even when cornering) I can't find any serious weaknesses. The tires are quiet, but unfortunately, between 120-140 km/h, I hear a slight, minimal howl (can be heard when the radio is switched off). This was not the case with the summer tires (also Hankook). When you're driving faster, i.e. from 170 km/h, there is a bit of a lack of feeling for the road, but you can deal with that. The Hankook behaves safely in the snow, it also depends on the driving style. In my opinion, with a reasonable driving style/speed, there are no major weaknesses. I haven't ridden the tire with aquaplaning & ice yet. All in all, I can recommend the tire.

Writing about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 given 100% (225-50-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 average miles
I have this tires fitted on my 2009 BMW 5 series in 225/50/17 size. After two summers and almost 30k miles with them, it is my favourite tire so far. Excellent grip in both dry and wet. I drove them on a good and pretty equal mix of motorways, country roads, city and national roads, performed incredibly well in all conditions. Under 10 degrees Celsius’s and cold asphalt, the grip is still good on dry but the tire gets a bit hard, which I think is normal for summer tires. They still have about 4mm of thread left, which will be good for another summer then definitely I'll buy them again or next generation of GY F1 Asymmetric Eagle. They don't seem to be noisy at all. I putted a 245/45/17 set on an 2013 E Klasse 220CDI. The handling is predictable in all conditions which gave me confidence every time I was at the wheel.
