2025 Teknikens Varld Summer Tire Test
2nd of 8 tires
  • The Michelin e Primacy impressed with its remarkably low rolling resistance (best in test by a significant margin) while maintaining strong overall performance. Though it sacrificed some grip in hydroplaning resistance, this weakness wasn't generally noticeable in normal driving. The e Primacy delivered exceptional comfort, being both the quietest tire and offering excellent shock absorption without feeling spongy. Its handling characteristics were quite similar to the winning Pirelli, though slightly less precise in steering feel and responsiveness. For drivers prioritizing comfort and fuel efficiency while still wanting strong safety performance, the Michelin e Primacy offers an excellent compromise, finishing just one point behind the test winner.

2025 Motor Low Rolling Resistance (AA) Tire Test
3rd of 7 tires
  • The Michelin e.Primacy showcases its efficiency-focused design by delivering the best rolling resistance coefficient (5.48 kg/t) while still maintaining strong overall performance. It excels in dry braking with a class-leading 36.1 meters stopping distance and delivers good wet braking performance. The e.Primacy's comfort credentials are equally impressive, tying for first in subjective comfort assessment. However, Michelin shows some weakness in water evacuation tests, placing last in curved aquaplaning and near-last in straight aquaplaning resistance. This suggests a trade-off where rolling resistance improvements may have compromised water dispersion capabilities. Despite these limitations, the Michelin's balance of efficiency, comfort, and core safety performance at a competitive price point (€415) earns it third place overall.

2025 AMS Sustainability Tire Test
4th of 6 tires
  • The Michelin e.Primacy stands out for having the highest efficiency and comfort ratings while maintaining good overall performance. It's produced CO2-neutrally in Germany and features extremely low rolling resistance, long life, and minimal wear. The tire provides well-balanced dynamics and precision on dry surfaces with direct steering response and high safety during evasive maneuvers. It's exceptionally comfortable and quiet with the highest fuel efficiency of all tested tires. Its main compromises are longer braking distances on both wet and dry surfaces, and reduced dynamics and corner grip in wet handling. For electric vehicles, it excels by maximizing range and minimizing rolling noise.

Top 3 Michelin e.primacy Reviews

Given 73% while driving a Tesla 2024 Model 3 RWD (235/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
This tires came default on the 2024 Tesla Model 3 and are excellent for everyday driving. It has good comfort, quietness, and low rolling resistance, perfect for electric vehicle efficiency. However, for those who enjoy a brisker pace in wet conditions, it falls short of the confidence-inspiring grip and aquaplaning resistance found in the PS5. With approximately 5mm of tread remaining after traveling 10,000km, it should not have issue lasting 30,000 to 40,000km.

Given 57% while driving a Tesla 2024 Model 3 RWD (235/45 R18) on mostly town for 15,000 average miles
I live on a hill. The only road out of my house goes downhill. On rainy days, I have to be extremely cautious on this road. At very low speeds, 10–20 km/h, if I lift my foot off the accelerator, I can feel the car sliding slightly downhill, and the regenerative braking in my Model 3 deactivates. This results in an unpleasant sensation of the car skidding downwards for a few centimeters/half a second.

The same thing happens on sharp turns and roundabouts when it's wet. Even without pressing much on the accelerator, the car slides (this can easily happen at just 10 or 20 km/h). In city traffic on wet streets, I take extra precautions and leave a greater distance from the car in front, because if I need to brake moderately (for example at 40 km/h), the car slides about half a meter further. These low-speed situations on wet surfaces are very frequent.

On highways or open roads at 100 or 120 km/h, I haven’t experienced these problems, but even so, I don’t feel confident when it rains.

None of these issues happen in dry conditions BTW. It’s a shame because the e.Primacy in other aspects is ok for normal driving and even great (not too noisy, good comfort), but due to its serious issues on wet surfaces, I will replace them very soon, probably before they reach the end of its lifespan. It's a matter of safety.

First time I tried Michelin for my MB V250 and did the double of KM's. It did 46.000Km. I tried Continental, Hankook, Kumho, and this 3-Primacy where the best.

Given 84% while driving a BMW i3 (155/60 R20) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
Comparing to the Bridgestone Ecopia tires which were on the car when I bought it, the Michelin e.Primacy is quieter and gives a better ride. A slightly bigger positive effort on the steering wheel is needed to begin a turn, which I prefer. Stops very well wet or dry.
Haven't been hurling this car around on the doorhandles so not going to comment on handling.

Given 56% while driving a Ford Falcon XF X_PAK (235/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 4,500 spirited miles
My car came new with these tires. I had driven a 2020 ford Focus before this one, with Michelin Crossclimate 2 mounted and they where just overall much better. Recently my car is fitted with the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 and what a relief. The car is quieter, feels much more grippy, especially in the wet and brought back the "Ford Focus Feeling" to the car.

I would definitly not recommend these tires to anyone.

Given 83% while driving a Citroën C5 X hybrid 225 (205/55 R19) on mostly motorways for 27,500 average miles
These were the OEM tires on my Citroën C5X. If you approach it with the knowledge that it is not a Pilot Sport 4S, you will be completely convinced of its main qualities! (fuel saving, quiet rolling noise, good comfort, long lasting)

A good choice for every Plug-in Hybrid or EV car, definitely will fit them (or their replacement) again!

Given 83% while driving a Toyota Yaris (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 1,000 easy going miles
I replaced my Dunlop Sport Bluresponse, and since the first moment it is more than noticeable that the car starts moving much easier. They are very smooth on the road and when I push them will turning they just follow with confidence. They are also very quiet. I was going for the Primacy 4, but I do not regret at all.

So much quieter on the car compared to the previous set. Only did the fronts but the difference was dramatic. Will definitely use these these tires when the rears are due for replacement. A real winner for me.

I just bought these and was amazed to find they only have 6.mm of tread depth as purchased. D.O.M wk14 2021 C.O.M. Spain I will be monitoring them closely and will be providing and updated review in the fullness of time. I am currently struggling to find a listing of tire tread depths as purchased so I can make a more informed purchasing decision next time. I've never known a new tire to have so little tread (depth) at the outset.
