Nankang NS2 Reviews - Page 10

Given 76% while driving a Rover 200Di (205/45 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 35,000 spirited miles
Very impressive tire for the price. Mine lasted 35,000 miles and the rear pair are still going with LOTS of life left. The front two only went due to bad tracking, so not exactly the tires fault. If you want a tire that seriously lasts, is cheap and handles great in the dry then this tire is for you! The wet grip isn't fantastic, but it's by no means terrible. I drive in various conditions (country roads, motorways etc etc) and often drive a little hard (if you catch my drift) and these tires take the punishment with easy. Fab tires!

Given 83% while driving a Jaguar XF (245/45 R18) on mostly town for 0 average miles
Just replaced the original P Zeros on my Jag XF with Nankang NS2's, based on the performance I had experienced with them on my previous car (Saab 93).
On the Saab they even performed well in winter conditions!
Good value for money, no question, compared to the Pirelli's, which as a matter of interest I managed to get 15k miles out of!
The ride on the Jag had become noticeably poor in recent weeks and the difference now is again noticeably better, back to what it was when I bought the Jag - no problems!
It will be interesting to see how they wear over the coming months as the XF is known for being heavy on tires!

Given 40% while driving a Acura RSX S Type (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
THIS is for those of you who are looking for a REAL genuine feedback of the NS2. There is just too many different feedback from many diversity of the general population. Each and every individuals may have different ratings and standards. What you are looking for is a feedback that will genuinely help you understand the nature of this tire from professional drivers.

This tire is suitable for easy going to mild drivers and small compact economy cars only. Not recommended for high performance vehicles.

Tested on FF and FR performance vehicles with REAL-TIME Professional drivers:
90 degree Cornering at 90~120km/h: Extremely Poor (Lost over 50% handling)
180 degree cornering at 40~80km/h: Extremely Poor (Lost over 70% handling)
Full Throttle Acceleration at 0km/h to 100km/h: Poor (screams like hell)
Full Braking from 100 to 0km/h: Poor (some screaming + ABS triggered)
TreadWear: Good (the better the wear, the poorer the handling)
Comfort/Noise: Poor (Don't expect comfortable quiet tires with these)

Additional Notes:
- Not recommended for performance to high performance vehicles.
- Not Recommended for Mid-Size Sedans to Large SUV.
- Not Recommended for Full-Circuit Track use.
- Recommended for vehicles with less than 120hp, or small compact size vehicles.

After-all these are cheap for a reason.

Given 84% while driving a Citroën C4 (225/45 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 20,000 spirited miles
Bought a full set of the NS2's for my C4 vts costing £168 from camskill, fitting and balance cost another £30.
20,000 miles and 18 months later I need another 2 for the front end. The rear are still like new.
Now, to be fair, I sometimes drive like a knob! Push my car to it's limits, why? because I can, and I can honestly say these tires have never let me down. They stick like shit to the bowl in the dry, never lost traction once on me, unless forced to, and are hard to spin unless in the wet and that still took some doing, traction suffered slightly in heavy rain, but what tire wouldn't? But light rain and damp roads offered no challenge and they did well, even when pushed.
Long distance drives are comfy, I regulaly do 500 mile round trips from Exeter to Bolton and back at around 80-90mph (M6 permitting).
Road noise? Can't hear it anyway, stereo's too loud, and anyone listening to the road noise needs to get a life, or better base.
Only drawback is slight uneven wear, edges worn more than centre as if underinflated, although I check 'em weekly and infalte with nitogen to 35psi or 2.5 bar for the geeks.
Overall you could do alot worse and waste your money on michelin, which was on the car when I bought it(Citoen factory standard)and where crap.

Given 69% while driving a MG ZS (205/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 1,000 spirited miles
Been running these tires on my MG ZS 180 for about 1000 miles now. I must admit they were a purchase based on the fact that they were cheap and got decent reviews - didn't have the cash for anything more expensive at the time.

Overall they are very good value.

I've found the dry grip to be perfectly acceptable. The feedback isn't amazing and I can feel the sidewalls flexing more than the Hankook V12's I was using before. They don't seem to inspire massive confidence with the feedback. But then these are half the price.

Alot of reviews on here harp on about wet grip being awful and it's fairly obvious that if you drive like a wally in the wet then you'll crash eventually, no matter what tire is fitted!
Well, all I can say is that I have tried, quite hard in fact, to break traction around roundabouts and I cant really get them to slide.
There's one roundabout near me that has that really slippery, polished surface to the tarmac.
I've pushed it quite hard round this and the grip is surprisingly good. The only way I can unstick them is by massive lift-off with some silly entry speeds! But to be fair any tire will do that in the wet.

Road noise is increased over my previous tires but again, for the money it's certainly nothing to moan about.

All in all I'd say these are a fine choice if money is tight. There are certainly far far worse budget tires for the same money as these.

Given 83% while driving a BMW 320D M Sport (255/40 R17) on mostly town for 0 average miles
Like alot of other drivers I couldnt wait to get the run flats off, needed some tires quickly for the MOT, My mate showed me a video of them drifting with the Nankangs and the tire wear afterwards, I have had no issues with them in the dry or in the wet, the only issue I had them in the wet was me doing it on purpose to check the grip and they responded like the Bridgestones runflats

The noise and ride much better since the run flats have come off and these have gone on the back 2, I'm not a driver who pushes hard. But when ive had to these tires have not let me down, Even in the wet.

Given 81% while driving a Jaguar S Type 4.2 Sport Plus (245/35 R19 W) on mostly motorways for 20,000 average miles
My car came with a new set of NS2s, I'd not heard of them before but I've been pleasantly surprised. I don't drive hard but I've not had any scary moments with them, and after 20,000 there is still plenty of life in two of the original four tires. I had to replace the other two prematurely after incurring sidewall damage from a pothole in the dark on the A12 in Essex. I replaced them with the same again. Comfort is good despite being 35 profile. I've not tested them on the limit but based on my experience in all weathers I'd recommend them

Given 84% while driving a Audi A8 (255/35 R20 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
I used to pay loads of money for Yokohama/Goodyear/Avon/Continental tires but when I changed the wheels on my Audi A8 from 18" to 20", I looked at the options available, read the reviews and plumped for the Nangnangs as my mate calls them.

They've been utterly dependable. My A8 has never been so sure-footed. I know it's a quattro system but I can't really see any discernible difference between the previous 18" Continental Sport2/3 tires and the 20" Nankangs. I simply cannot detect any change in noise from these tires.

Having read many of the reviews written here, I would say - lay off the crack pipe, especially the person who allegedly spent 8K on repairs after a dubious accident?

Nankangs are good, if not great tires. Plus, the handy rim protector did its job recently whilst I was trying to navigate through a narrow McD's drive through 'restaurant'. It took a couple of lumps out of the tire but nothing damaged the wheel itself.

Highly recommended.

Given 23% while driving a BMW 320D (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
This is the worst tire I've ever had in my life...
a danger to the road.
no grip at all in wet conditions and dry conditions is very poor too...
braking from 200 to 120 is in full abs on dry road dont even think about doing this on wet roads...this tire just cant handle nothing...
cornering speeds are disastrous as well...
looks nice because profile is symmetric but sure as hell I will never buy this again.
Hell of a loud roadnoice I eve thought I had a worn rolling of the front wheels.
worst tire ever dont buy

Given 89% while driving a Honda Civic Type R (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
On a Civic Type R. We have months of hot, hot weather and then it rains and makes the roads slippery. No problems. Acceleration, braking and cornering all excellent. Wear rate is fine and for the price..............

Given 79% while driving a Vauxhall Signum 2.2 direct (235/35 R19 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Very good tire for such a reasonable price. Feel grippy wet or dry, comfy, low road noise and initial impressions suggest decent wear resistance. I have used Avon, Khumo, Michelin and Uniroyal tires in recent years, and believe the NSII's compare favourably with any of them. Will be my 1st choice next time I need tires.
