Pirelli P6000 Reviews - Page 10

Given 56% while driving a Opel Zafira 1.6 comfort (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 6 average miles
Absolutely deadly dangerous in the wet, I constantly keep going straight when I want to go around the roundabout. Mine are on an Opel Zafira 1.6 petrol and I have a friend who has them on an Alfa Romeo 156 and both of us have the same problem. It cost me ??85 per tire less than a year ago and I'm going to get rid of them before they cause an accident

I fitted these tires 5k miles ago and I have found them to be terrible on wet roads, driving at anything over 70 mph on a wet road has became scarey , theer seems to be no grip at all in the wet. However they are ok in the dry.

I got 2 front Pirelli P6000 on Thursday, I feel already it has made a big difference when driving, I had Continental Conti-sport ones before but I prefer these, better to steer, really comfortable and looking forward to test them out on a long distance journey.

Given 74% while driving a Audi A4 Avant1.9 Tdi SE (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 23,750 average miles
I am using P6000 on my cars for many many years without any problem and with good mileage. Roadholding is superb wet or dry with very little noise. I was allways prepared to pay a premium for these tires. However the present set only lasted 23750 miles while the previous set lasted almost 30000 miles on the same car with the same driver and same conditions. I have had the tires rotated and balanced every 6250 miles as recommended. Will I buy them again -maybe but not at a premium.

Given 50% while driving a Ford Mondeo (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 300 easy going miles
Just had these tires fitted to my mondeo last week. Very comfortable tires which are ideal for cruising and deal really well with our potholed roads. Major drawback is that these tires produce a steering wobble from 60mph upwards and it gets worse as the speed rises. Have had them re balanced four times by Kwik Fit and twice by my local Ford dealer and the wobble is still there. These tires are going back and it's a pity as they are so comfortable. Apparently the steering wobble is a well documented problem on the internet and I'm kicking myself for not checking first before purchasing.

absolutely shcoking, fairly expensive to buy so would not pick these anyway for that price when there are better tires available at better prices.poor in wet, easy to spin up without trying up to 3rd gear in the wet, dont inspire too much confidence even in the dry. however they dont seem to have worn a lot in the 4000 miles i have owned them either.

Dry grip very ordinary, wet grip terrible. Wear rate high!
On car when bought, will replace with different tires.

Given 33% while driving a Renault Clio DCi 80 (185/55 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 3,000 easy going miles
Unfortunately I bought the car with 2 x P6000s on the rear, after having a previous experience with these tires I knew how bad they were but they still had about 1mm before they'd get to the legal limit wear markers so I decided to leave them on till the end of their life which was approximately just over 3,000 miles, I would guess from that, that they should last in the region of 20-30,000 miles on the motorway on the rear of a small front engined, front wheel drive car, so nothing amazingly special about their wear rate.

In the dry, these tires are distinctly average, road feedback is okay and grip is okay but definitely not confidence inspiring, I can't comment on road noise as my little diesel is quite noisy.

In the wet is when these tires should be banned from being on the road, they are so poor I can't begin to describe, I have never known of a front engine front wheel drive cars rear end to spin out so erratically and without warning when it's wet, I've always expected understeer when cornering but never uncontrollable oversteer which happened on atleast 5 occasions in the past 3,000 miles. It made me make my already pretty easy driving even more laid back.

I can't believe they're advertised as midranged tires when they perform like budget tires.

Personally I won't go anywhere near these tires again, or any Pirelli's for that matter.

Very poor tires - dreadful grip in the wet with no progression and very easy breakaways. Dry grip was not much better with virtually no feel - noise wasn't too bad but wear was also poor with only 8,000 miles from the fronts on my mum's car which is driven very slowly (there was still 4mm+ left but I changed them to some budgets as in my opinion the budgets are far safer than the P6000s).

No confidence under braking at all in wet or dry - one to avoid like the plague.

Given 40% while driving a BMW 320D (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 3,500 spirited miles
This tire has been a major dissapointment. The grip is pretty avarage both in dry and wet and the way this tire goes bald is beyond me. i have driven 3500 miles on my bmw 320d and the tires are illegal now. I have been using continental sport 3 in the past and thought they had a short life but these tires are on a different planet. In comparison to the continentals they have much poorer life, and even worse handeling and grip, and there is not a big difference in price.
My advice to anybody planning to buy this tire is to think again and save their money and go for another brand. Look at it like this i am so dissapointed with these tires that i searched their reviews on google just so that i can write a few words of my own to warn people about them.
