Given 70% while driving a Alfa Romeo Mito Multiair (135 hp) 13 (195/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 40,000 easy going miles
I bought these tires 5 years ago. From the very first day it was a bit of disappointment, compared to my previous tires (Goodyear excellence). The grip in both dry and wet conditions was not as good as the previous tires, the wheels were spinning at the start even in the slightest hill, the breaking was making me nervous whenever I needed an emergency stop, gliding for several meters even at very low speeds, and rarely I had a sensation of sliding during turning, especially on wet conditions, or poor quality of tarmac.

I was very satisfied though by its fuel consumption and its wear... Its performance didn't drop much during these 5 years (60000 km), although it wasn't very good in the first place.

I would not recommend this tire to anyone, except maybe someone who drives very carefully, in a very safe road and his only concern is a fuelsaving tire that will last, with minimum requirements, for 30.000-40.000 miles (50.000-60.000 km)

Given 56% while driving a Ford Focus (205/55 R16 W) on mostly country roads for 2,000 average miles
Excellent grip in both wet and dry and these give a very comfortable ride. But they have a downside, they have ruined my cars handling. The car has lost its lovely pointy steering, and now feels mushy in corners even with a few extra PSI as recommended on some forums. Personally in this taller profile at least I think most people would better off with a tire that has stiffer side walls, unless you drive everywhere in a straight line. Cannot comment on wear but after a couple of thousand miles there are no real visible signs of it.

Ford (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 20,000 average miles
Bought these tires as a replacement for the Michelin Primacy 3 tires that were fitted to the car when it was new. I got 62,000km out of the originals which was outstanding mileage (some may ask why I didn't buy another set - i'll come to that). On reading multiple reviews I opted for the Goodyears as they were highly rated generally and £15 cheaper a corner. Even if I didn't get 62,000km out of them I reasoned they would be more or less as good as the Michelins. Well, in short I was wrong the difference in performance is very noticeable in certain conditions. After 20,000km they are 50% worn, but by far and away the biggest disappointment is the performance in cold & damp weather. I do a lot of early morning commuting at temperatures between 0 - 5 °C in the winter. Well, that's the achilles heal of these tires they have very little grip when its cold and damp they are strictly a summer tire. The wheels seem to spin every time I take off from a junction or roundabout in the cold & damp and then the traction control of the car kicks in and the car cuts the power. This problem just didn't exist with the Michelins, so it must be an issue with the firmness of the tread compound which is designed for energy efficiency in the summer. To be fair and balanced the tires perform much better in warm & dry conditions, in fact in the summer the Goodyears are every bit as good as the Michelins and have lots of grip. Overall, I am going to replace the Goodyears in the autumn and guess what this time I'll happily pay the £15 extra per corner for Michelins which perform year round.

Given 69% while driving a Volkswagen Passat 2.0TDI (215/55 R16 W) on mostly motorways for 11,000 spirited miles
Bought a pair of these for the front wheels of my Passat last June to replace some cheaper rubber that I'd fitted previously. Road handling was good and breaking in both wet and dry was satisfactory, but considering I'd spent extra on purchasing what I consider a premium tire,

I was disappointed that they wore out so quickly - 12 months driving (racking up 11k maybe 11.5k miles) mostly to and from work via motorway/dual carriageway doesn't really seem like that much.

Given 84% while driving a Ford Focus (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 43,500 easy going miles
hey lasted about 60-70K km. Urban drive mostly and extraurban with speeds up to 140km/h. Until their final days i could not make them lose grip in any circumstance. Wet or Dry. I bought them again. For their price there are very few other options that offer the same features.

Given 47% while driving a Toyota Prius (195/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 24,500 average miles
Replaced all four of the Michelin Energy Saver tires on my gen 2 Toyota Prius. Chose them because there was a Goodyear discount going on, which saved me almost € 100 on 4 tires. While the Michelin's lasted almost 80.000 km on the front and 95.000 km on the back, all 4 Goodyears were destroyed after 40.000 km with identical driving style. To me, none of the other scores matter if it has less than half the life in it. I didn't save € 100, but it cost me another set of tires after just 1,5 years. Which of course went on to become Michelin's again.

Skoda (215/45 R16 H) on mostly motorways for 25,000 spirited miles
bought them based on good reviews , to replace stock bridgestone er300 which were very loud . EGP were fantastic and gripped all the way down to 3 mil when they started a little bit of start off spin . much quieter then er300 ,
bit boaty on the soft sidewalls , and they can tear up of kerbs due to crap rim protection did 25k miles 40 km . prob would have got another 2 k miles out of them but had chance to change ( back to the orig er300 ) but once these are gone its back to EGP . suits a smaller car , not sure if a bigger car can work on them .
but for a small car , a damn great tire.

Volvo (195/60 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 15,000 average miles
A brilliant tire sadly flawed. These tires replaced a cheap set fitted before the car was purchased. They transformed the handling in the wet. With the old tires the car would under-steer horrifically at the mere site of a puddle. The new ones allowed the car to corner as if on rails in the wet. It became a totally different car inspiring confidence in all conditions. Feed back was excellent and the ride was smooth and quiet. The downside was the wear. The rear tires had to be changed with about 5mm of tread left as they had distorted so the surface resembled a 50p coin. Not only could vibration be felt coming up through the floor but you could see the distortion when the wheel was taken off. Then weird vibrations started coming from front. I had several independent examinations carried out, all the steering and suspension checked, wheels checked for balance, etc. Nothing wrong. Finally, the vibration was traced back to the tires that distort and cause vibration when under certain load. The walls were found to be soft at the shoulder as if the tire had been run flat and damaged the ply. New tires, of a different make were fitted and now no vibration. They may suit some cars, possibly lighter ones, but I won't be buying any more until this issue has been cleared up which is a shame as when new they were brilliant.

Given 72% while driving a Skoda Rapid TSI (185/65 R15) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
I came from a set of Continental Ecocontact 5 tires. The grip with these tires is staggering. Although not a performance car by any stretch of the imagination I hold my IAM certificate and have done many driving courses over the years as I enjoy driving quickly but safely (and legally).

These tires did return around 3-4mpg less than the Continentals and the road noise was a lot louder but it was worth it for the grip. These are the XL version which would have contributed to the slightly better handling having stiffer sidewalls.
