Writing about the Rotalla Setula 4 Season RA03 given 90% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1500 spirited miles
Perform like any other good tire. Seemingly one of the few budget makes good all year round and also rim protectors.

Writing about the Avon ZV7 given 84% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
Replaced some noisy F1s with these ZV7s and am really pleased with them. Only done 500 miles on them so far but they are quiet and offer plenty of dry grip. It's not rained this last week so can't comment on wet grip. Others have made positive comments.. Would buy again for the rear of the car when the Hankooks wear out.

Writing about the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 given 87% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 average miles
I really rate these _ I stuck the F1s on the back and got these Evo2s on the front to replace some ditchfinders. Really impressed. Only been on 1k miles so far but I find them better in the wet than the F1s and a quieter and more confortable tire

Writing about the Continental Sport Contact 3 given 53% (235-45-17-W)
Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 average miles
Generally, grip in the dry and wet is good - they handle fine.
However, they have only lasted 10K miles - I usually get around 12K miles - apparently tire wear is a Saab trait.
My biggest issue is that I have never had tramlining problems as bad as this before. I don't know if it is this particular tire or because they were XL tires which I had been recommended to get for the car. Anyhow, I am going back to Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asy 2) but this time regular tires not XL.

Car tramlines very badly! Just put two ContiSportContact 3 XL tires on the front axle. Saab recommended XL tires due to the weight of the car even though the handbook doesn't require them. The problem I have is that the car tramlines very badly which it didn't with the Goodyear F1 Asy (2) that were on the front. When I come to replace the Conti's I will firstly not buy the 3's again and I will go back to regular not XL tires as I don't think they add any benefits and the stiffer sidewall of the tire just adds to the tramlining issue.

Writing about the Barum Bravuris 2 given 84% (235-45-17-W)
Driving on mostly motorways for 2000 average miles
Replaced my Goodyear F1 Asy (2) with these as I wasn't happy with the wear of the Goodyears (12K miles) although I was told by a reputable garage that Saabs are quite heavy on front tires and 12K is about average. Can't tell about wear yet as they are too new but I have not noticed any difference in handling, braking or comfort over the Goodyears and the Barums cost a third less. If they continue to be this good, I will buy again. Will update again on how they have worn when I replace them.

Writing about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 given 73% (235-45-17-W)
Driving on mostly motorways for 12000 easy going miles
My main issue is wear - I do not throw the car around or accelerate and break heavily but these tires have only lasted about 12K miles. Will be looking for a longer lasting tire. Apart from that they are an excellent tire

Writing about the Continental Sport Contact 2 given 52% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 15 easy going miles
Came standard on car.
Extremely poor mileage, not especially quiet or comfortable & very expensive to replace relative to other premium brands. Acceptable rather than remarkable performance in use.
Conclusion: Very poor value due primarily to excessive wear & high price.
Other premium brands offer better mileage & performance for less money.

These tires are made by Continental in their eastern european factory(second biggest tire plant in the world)so they are on a par with most of the premium brands. They have excellent grip and are very quiet on my cabriolet
