225/35 19 Tire Review Highlights

Yokohama Advan Sport V107 rated 81% while driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance Mk. 7.5
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
I think these are good tires, both in the dry and wet, however when very cold they loose some of there confidence inspiring grip. I’m a little on the fence with there longevity, but I do like them

Pirelli Powergy rated 67% while driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI 7.5
Driving on mostly town for 2000 average miles
Bought a used Golf with Powergy's on all 4 corners. 1st impressions were they were quite grippy but roadnoise is really quite loud. Wet grip is decent but not outstanding. Overall I wouldn't buy again especially as these are a fairly high price

Linglong Green Max rated 66% while driving a Honda Accord Tourer
Driving on mostly country roads for 0 spirited miles
I initially really liked these tires, as they performed splendid all around, BUT.. admittedly, I probably drive like a madman, and these tires didn't cope with me, so I had.. (hold on) THREE blow-outs.. my first three ever.. within 5000 miles!

Two of them blew violent, on the side wall of the tire.. both on the nside of the wheel facing inwards.. one front, one rear.. at "good country road speed" 80-90 KM/t / 56 MPH - The last one, sort of just went flat, on the highway, at 110 KMT / 70 MPH, and althought I stopped immediately, there was a hone in the side wall of the tire.. and again, on the inside!

I challenge my tires.. and these had great grip / traction / low noise, but very bad durability ! I dont do handbrake turns, or anything like that, so why should two of them blow up like that.! I was pretty surprised, and sort of hope, that these tires are off the market.. "coz them babies are dangerous".. for mad drivers anyway!

Kumho Ecsta PS71 rated 87% while driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI 7.5
Driving on mostly town for 200 average miles
Decided to leave a review as this very site helped me with tire choice.
Recently replaced 6 year old P Zeros with PS71’s all round on my Golf GTi 7.5 and what a massive difference. Admittedly the P Zeros were quite old, and starting to crack, but still had minimum 5mm tread.
The ride quality is massively improved. Running exactly the same pressures, the car feels more refined, quieter, and less crashy across road imperfections. Grip levels are improved, especially in the wet, although the P Zeros had clearly gone off.
At £110 fitted per corner for a 225/35/19, I’m very impressed and will certainly buy again if wear rates are good. While I don’t tear about needlessly, I do press on now and then and the PS71’s give me confidence to do so.

Pace ALVENTI Pace rated 39% while driving a BMW Z4
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
They seem very bouncy and unstable compared to the Michelin sports they replaced, bunny hopping sideways in corners.
They feel pretty dangerous to me, it's like the sidewall has too much flex in it.
I am going to up the tire pressures, see if it improves.
I would not buy them again.
They seem to be better in the wet no aquaplaning so far.
My car is off lease in 4 months, if I was keeping it I would be looking to get them checked and replaced.

Davanti Protoura Sport rated 53% while driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance Mk. 7.5
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
When I bought my new to me Golf GTI performance it came with an almost brand new full set of the Davanti Protoura tires fitted discovered quickly these tires don’t like cold, damp or wet. When cornering they easily understeer and can struggle for traction even in 3rd gear. This has taken my confidence away from these tires. In dry and warm they are perfectly adequate and wear reasonably well. Davanti’s insurance is also another good point as whe I hit a potholes and damaged the side wall I got a new tire for £20 due to minimal wear on the damaged tire. I’d say these tire would be good for a non sporty or powerful car for general driving duties

Davanti DX640 rated 39% while driving a BMW Z4 Coupe
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 easy going miles
These tires would appear to be made from cheese and not cheddar, the soft kind like Feta. The merest hint of a curb and large chunks fall off the side wall. I will have to replace the two front tires after 6 months and 700 miles to get the car through MOT. The previous tires were on the car 8 years so it’s not the drive, my wife who’s not a brilliant driver to be honest, but the previous tires stuck around for 8 years so I’m pretty sure I won’t be buying Devanti tires any time soon. Appalling bad tires.

Pirelli P Zero rated 57% while driving a Audi A4
Driving on mostly town for 7000 average miles
Two new tires on my A4 in February, 7000 miles ago and they're being replaced now in September because they're almost bald. Can't believe how bad these have lasted on mostly motorway mileage when the 2 original ventus from the factory are still going strong from 3 years ago. Never buying these again.

Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
Very very noisy tire, lacking on grip too. Feel is nice when pushing on but grip is a real let down.

Michelin Pilot Sport 5 rated 94% while driving a Ford Focus ST250
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
Had the PS5's on my Focus ST with 19" Snowflake alloys for almost a year. Only done around 3-4k miles with them and they have been excellent. Previously on the front wheels there was some budget tires which weren't great in the wet, frequently lost grip, and produced a lot of noise when cornering. The PS5's have mad a massive difference and I notice a much better driving experience, especially from the front wheels which you'd expect from a tuned front wheel drive car. They handle the power excellently and I now have a lot of confidence when driving for a bit of enjoyment. Out on the long straight motorway journeys however they are quiet and offer a fairly comfortable ride considering the hard suspension set up. Wet performance is very good, sometimes if pushing it the front wheels do spin easily but this is understandable, still good confidence in the wet though. Unsure if it's related but I frequently see mid 30-35mpg round the town and closer to 40mpg on a longer run when driving fairly sensibly which is impressive for a 2L petrol car with some minor modifications.

Maxxis Victra Sport 5 rated 69% while driving a Ford Mk5 Mondeo 2.0
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
A well balanced tire that is quiet, comfortable and performs well in dry warm weather. Unfortunately once the temperatures drop so does the driveablity. Grip loss is quite apparent on cold wet roads with these tires. On a Mk5 Mondeo front tire wear is a common issue and the car has no gripes about scrubbing a set of new tires down to the limit blocks in record time. These VS5's however have taken a beating on the outside amd have worn very quickly. The car and geometry has been professionally set up so I am 100% confident that toe and camber are not the cause.

Petlas MULTI ACTION PT555 rated 50% while driving a SEAT Ibiza 1.0 TSI 115
Driving on mostly country roads for 100 easy going miles
Driving on dry surfaces was fine, horrible skidding on wet surfaces, almost lost control few times while driving around 50km/h. Changed them now and will not buy it never again. High noise level
