235/55 19 Tire Review Highlights

Michelin CrossClimate 2 AW rated 83% while driving a Acura rdx 2.3l turbo sh awd
Driving on mostly town for 1000 average miles
A lot of the score categories are difficult to estimate for my car, my driving style, and perhaps most notably, the traffic in my region (Washington state, Seattle area) which is usually very dense. It's too early to rate wear, and I don't think it would be fair to rate them on handling because it's an SUV that I don't push terribly hard in cornering and such. Compared to the outgoing stock all-season Continental Sport LXs, these tires are absolutely a step up. The main reason I got these is because of all the research I've done, including watching nearly every relevant video Jonathan has provided. They're perfect for a year-round tire in the PNW. We don't get the severe arctic winters of Canada or Minnesota, but our winters can be challenging because unlike a region that snows, sticks, and stays well below freezing for a period of time, the Pacific Northwest gets winters where the temperature fluctuates just above and below freezing. So it rains during the day in the high 30s, then dips below freezing during the night and you get a lovely sheet of ice to wake up to. Then it melts, rains, and repeats the process all over again. Our snow turns to slush almost immediately giving you a wet slushy mess to drive on. Only twice in my life here have I seen the need for true winter tires. Otherwise, the CrossClimate2 is an excellent all-around tire that easily beats any [American] all-season offering. Noise and comfort are good, wear is predicted to be very good, and having a winter-rated tire when you need it makes it a slam-dunk in my opinion for my style of car, my style of driving, and my climate.

Pirelli Scorpion Winter rated 82% while driving a Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.2 Diesel
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 spirited miles
Tires that exceeded my expectations because they are winter tires that drive like UHP summer tires on dry roads and lower temperatures.
On wet roads and snow, they are also solid and predictable.
Wear is average, after three seasons they are at about 4mm of tread.

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 rated 73% while driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 spirited miles
I fitted 4 of these tires to replace the Goodyear Wrangler tires on my 2.2 Discovery Sport as the Wrangler’s are no longer available. Despite the good reviews I find the Vector 4 Season gen 3 to be softer and the steering less positive, generating more understeer in cornering. They are I think also a little noisier on the motorway. I cannot comment on dry or wet grip as I ever had an issue with the wrangler tires. The other noticeable difference is that Vector 4-Season tires do not have a rim protector band built in making it easier to kerb your wheels. On balance I think the Wrangler All Weather tires were superior.

Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV rated 57% while driving a Kia Motors 2017 Kia Sorento SX
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 average miles
Absolutely horrendous wet grip. I read raving reviews, but my experience is completely different. When I bought these tires, both I and my wife immediately noticed that the front wheels spin of wet asphalt when I pull away at a traffic light as I try to race even compared to the old worn-out stock tires. Sharp cornering is also pretty bad. I have never experienced really bad handling in snow, but I can't also commend these tires, especially after having Bridgestone Blizzak WS. A year later, one of the tires began to make pulsating noise. Having driven CrossClimate 2 for about 25k miles, I took them to Costco and they told that the tires are worn to about 50%.

Continental Cross Contact LX Sport rated 90% while driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport
Driving on mostly town for 20000 average miles
I bought my LR second-hand with these tryres on it back in early 2020, it’s now end of 2024, I’ve had no problems whatsoever, great tires, would definitely recommend from my personal experience. My tires do now need changing, I was going to find and buy there but looks like they’re old tires now so not easy to find. So after researching, I’m going to try out the Pirelli scorpions to see what they’re like.

Michelin CrossClimate rated 97% while driving a Kia Motors Sorento III (UM) Diesel 2.2 CRDI
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
Only had these only for around 3 weeks now, but these tires are incredible sticks to the road like s##t to a blanket. Tried in thr mild snow we just had and the extreme flooded roads and there is no sliding what so ever can't comment on the wear as I have only just got them on but so far for wet, dry and that light snow we had these tires were superb.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV rated 81% while driving a Toyota RAV4
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
Great tire! I was very satisfied with wet and dry grip on Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid. Tire was also very communicative on the edge and I felt very safe while driving it. There is one big disadvantage and that is wear. They lasted only about 16000 km /10000 miles (on 2,2 ton SUV). Also I didn´t do any off-roading with it, so I can´t comment on that.

Driving on mostly country roads for 60000 average miles
BOUGHT THESE TIRES 2MONTHS AGO AND FOUND THEY ARE OKAY, BUT NOT OUTSTANDING. THEY SEEM TO WANT TO ROLL WHEN CORNERING. THE RIDE IS QUIET AND ASSURING (267.00 EACH). I HAVEN'T HAD A SNOW EPISODE YET...WE'LL SEE.

Bridgestone Turanza T005 rated 56% while driving a Audi Q5
Driving on mostly motorways for 15 average miles
Fit a set of these Turanza T005 last year Sept. 2023 on my Audi Q5 and only have another 1-2000km left for each tire. Swopped tires around on 8000km and not as usual on 10 000km. Currently standing on 15 000km and searching for tires. Really not happy, will not recommend.

Hankook Ventus Prime 4 rated 90% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
I felt that I ought to have felt bad about owning them right away. I was impressed with this set of tires after the break-in time. The tires on the front and back are both inflated to 33 PSI. They performed excellently in spite of the rainy and dry weather. Crisp cornering and little body roll. Smooth on a smooth asphalt, low frequency sounds on a rough one. The mileage increased little from 5.3L to 5.8L/100km for whatever reason. Without a doubt, I will suggest it to my friends.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 rated 93% while driving a Honda CRV
Driving on a combination of roads for 66 average miles
I had these types with the branda new Honda CRV 1.5 Turbo in 2019. Tires date 21 week 2018, type 101Y. In 5 years and 4 months I did over 66,000 km. Now I started noticing some wear on the surface. I had mix use of the car, dual carriageways and other roads that are not very smooth. I am very happy and happy with the economy too. I had at least 5-6 nail punctures too.
