Mazda cx5 Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Falken Winterpeak F Ice 1 given 81% (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 17 average miles
I live in northern NJ travel to upstate NY daily 43 mile up in Catskill mountains. It is about 7 miles from my door to High Point Mountain 1250 feet on a one lane each way winding state park road up down then travel on another one lane road 209 through mostly woods to reach route 17 travel 8 miles on a three lane highway up Wurtsboro Mountain where most are driving to fast in bad winter conditions and arrive at my parking space 1650 feet above sea level. These tires have served me very well snow, icy slushy roads, high winds , we get it all and often. I drive a 2023 Mazda CX5 AWD and leave these on all year round do just fine in the dry long trips loaded to the beach although a little more gas, ride is OK I came from a very comfy 2016 Accord so if the Mazda was riding poorly with these I would share it. At this price point I will run two winters ( I drive 20 K miles a year) and get another set as it's 100 $ to put my other tires back on in spring repeat in fall. Paid $528.00 for four. Oh had them rotated (directional tire) after a year very little wear defiantly getting two years, I buy new tires before I should like to have good rubber on my car always.

Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 spirited miles
The truth is if you are looking for tires with the best quality/price ratio these are the best you can find, the only detail against it is that at a certain speed range it has a slight vibration in the steering wheel which is a manufacturing defect, it is not that they are poorly balanced it is a factory defect, I would buy them again because I am already going to have 30,000 kms and they still hold up for another 70,000 kms, they have good grip and the comfort of the tire makes the car's suspension feel better, in the rain they are a wonder almost at the level of Michelin, recommended for work, on the other hand off-road because it has an optimal tread.

Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
Amazing tires! Absolute champions in the snow, great handling in the wet, sporty feel in the dry. Matched up with an AWD vehicle you will not have any problems in the snow. I will buy again. One thing of note, they are less sporty in the dry than the original CrossClimates but perform even better in the snow

Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
I have had the tires for 15k miles, and am very happy with them thus far. There are on a small Mazda SUV and I think are a good match the spirit of the car. The wear is just now kissing the 80% graphic. The tires are not totally silent, but certainly 9/10 for it - An occasional strip of concrete will make them sing, but that is the exception. Dry traction so far is 10/10, with wet having a little noticeable lapse from a stop - FWD, but have not slipped or pushed in wet cornering. Dry handling matches the car’s spirit - lively without sharp bumps transmitted. We only had meaningful snow for a few days this year and they were fine - not a Hakka, but no surprises. I am keeping my eye on prices for it for my wife’s car, as it remains a top contender soon. Current set is made in Dayton, TN - USA! Son has the identical car with Pirelli Scorpion AS+3 - These Nokian ONEs compare very favorably, at a significant cost savings in that size

Driving on mostly town for 0 easy going miles
The dealership sold me these tires since the first batch wore out. I have 55,000 miles on my car and have had to replace these twice now and they arent cheap. Got only 25,000 miles out of this last time. Too bad the dealership wont stand behind these awful tires. Spend a little more and get some good quality. Had I known I would have never bought these. Buyer be aware!!!

Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 average miles
I was looking a new summer tires for my Mazda cx5 because when I bought it there were some unknown sporty summer tires from last owners. There were actually really good on dry, fast cornering and so but on the wet really unpredictable. So I started watching your videos and thanks to you decided for Efficient Grip 2.For 19 inch tire it's fair amount comfortable, grip on wet is really important because I drive on autobahn every day to work and till know I never had risky situation in fast cornering or heavy rain.Never tested it on off-road or some grass. All in all I am definitely buying this tire again considering the price.

Driving on a combination of roads for 18000 average miles
Fantastic winter tire for harsh canadian winters. Highly recommended. Before the Hakkapeliitta R3 I ran R2. It too was a great tire, but the R3 is an improvement over the R2. This is the best none studded winter tire on the market. Good tire life also if you run them from November to April.

VERY pleasant tire, very quiet and supple. feels round and smooth. good grip and respond to inputs. bought it after 4 years with the alenza 001 which is more responsive and sporty but harsher and louder.

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV given 91% (225-55-19-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 spirited miles
Michelin is undoubtedly a fairly reliable option, the Pilot Sport 4 SUV is the best option for those who use their car to go out on the track, it requires a lot and does not cover so many kilometers, for us mortals who use the SUV as a vehicle For transportation and even for business work, the mileage performance is quite low, 40,000 km. Exaggerating this the price is high, another quality is that it has an excellent grip due to its low treadwear, but this causes an increase in fuel consumption between 10 to 15% more, it is not so annoying but in case anyone will be interested.

Really disappointed to see these tires are no longer available. They are great tires and have purchased several sets for multiple vehicles. It doesn't look like the replacement models are getting as good of reviews. Might be time to look for a different brand.

Driving on mostly town for 30000 average miles
The ride quality is ok, apart from the noise. Lots of road noise. But I cannot believe how quickly these wear. We live in Alaska so for at least 6 months a year we run on winter tires. The car has just turned 50,000 miles in total, but these tire were only on the car half the time and yet they now need replacing. So at most I'd guess we got 30000 miles from these Toyo tires. That's terrible. Now upgraded to Michelins for not much more money.
