Skoda Suberb MkII Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin CrossClimate given 90% (205-55-16-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 60000 average miles
My original CrossClimate tires were fitted back in late January 2016, I have since done over 60,000 miles/96,560 km in nearly 34 months! They are 205/55/16 size, driven in South of England conditions. We did have a few days of bad snow in places, these tires got me out and gave me confidence on the road. But they feel like a good summer tire in the dry and wet which was the main thing! At that mileage in nearly 3 years, longevity is legendary! Ultimately I doubt many tires will match on longevity which is the reason I will stick to the Michelin CrossClimates. I am looking forward to the Plus model as performance of tire stays more consistent on wearing, and that is a great thing!

Writing about the Avon WT7 given 69% (205-55-16-T)
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Drove in winter in French Alps, heavy snow is not an issue, I was still going when Pirellis were stuck on a similar car. So far I'm not disappointed, price reflects quality, dry and wet grip is not great, but still better than most Chinese brands, snow and ice performance is great. Feedback is lousy if you compare to summer Michelins, but these are winter tires after all.

Driving on a combination of roads for 7000 spirited miles
7000 miles, mix of city and motorway. No feedback from the road, unpredictable performance. I had okon retreads that were 200% better than these. They are coming off as soon as warm weather arrives. Looses grip all of a sudden in corners.

Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 spirited miles
Had 2 on the front of my skoda superb, wearing well at 8000
Liked them so much just replaced the rears with the Sam
The only difference between these and so called premium tires is slightly noisier, and quite firm when cold
But you have to be a spirited driver to really notice
Well worth it at the price, bought via F1aotocentre as their current best budget tire
Amazing value at a third of the price of the standard fit

Writing about the Constancy LY688 given 84% (205-55-16-H)
Driving on mostly town for 0 easy going miles
I'm a taxi driver in Dublin, doing very high annual mileage. Already on my second set of Constancy tires and I absolutely love them. They are cheap as chips, but they do perform as good as so called mid-range brands.

Used on a Taxi, absolutely unbelievable in the wet, in fact they act like the road is dry in the wet!

Writing about the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance given 80% (205-55-16-V)
Driving on mostly motorways for 38000 easy going miles
Very pleased with these. I am a gentle driver and do lots of motorway miles and these tires will last me 40-45k miles having done 38k so far. I like that they are quiet and provide good grip wet or dry. Will buy again.

Writing about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 given 94% (225-40-18-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 14000 spirited miles
When I bought my car it had Michelin PS3s all round. I was pleased with them but the performance dropped off alot below 4mm. Swapped to F1A2s at the next change and was mightily impressed.

The first set did 14,00 miles (2000 more than PS3s) and the wet weather performance didn't seem to diminish when the tire wore below 4mm. Turn in isn't quite as crisp as the PS3 but through the corners they held on really well. As good as the PS3 in the dry and better in the wet. Wheel spin can only be had in 1st when wet and lock on the steering wheel and too much throttle. I can't really remember any in the dry.

I have fitted a second set all round this time as I was so impressed. This is only the second time I have fitted a full set a second time around. Usually I change to try something different.

Road noise is low, handling is excellent and cost is very keen. Only £4 a corner more than my previous favourite; the Hankook V12 Evo.

Highly recommended and rated by me. Well suited to my style of driving and never caused me any concerns.
