215/45 18 Tire Review Highlights

Triangle SeasonX TA01 rated 79% while driving a Suzuki 2007 SX4 GYA
Driving on a combination of roads for 1500 average miles
When I bought my Suzuki SX4 I also wanted some new rims with tires. Because I went for 18" rims I looked at an cheaper tire. I cam to the Triagle tires. This was two months ago.

But now I have them on my car for more than 2 months. They ride very well. Not so much noise and quit comfortable for 215/45 R18 tires. But maybe the SX4 is also more comfortable than my previous car.

As I see now when I bought the tires, they were around 75,- euro a tire in August. But now,3 months later they cost you 175,- euro each. Exactly the same tires with a fresh production date. That's the same price as Michelin or Continental tries will cost you. Very strange, but they can compete with those brands. They ride exellent.

But for so much money I would never buy them. Then I rather choose for Michelin, Continental of Vredestein.

Vredestein Quatrac Pro rated 94% while driving a Volkswagen Taigo
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 average miles
Bought as a replacement for Hankooks that came with vehicle. Quatracs were noticeably softer but that was the only difference. Nice ride on 18s that suits the Taigo R Line (auto, 150hp) No more crashing/ jarring over bumps, etc. Now reached 5K miles on these & very happy. Excellent wet performance. Fine in the dry. No issues whatsoever. Would happily buy again. Recommended for the UK where harsh winter conditions are rare. My second set of All Seasons & beat the Bridgstones I had (& would never buy again!)

Sailun Atrezzo Z4 AS rated 70% while driving a Mazda 3 Series
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Coming off Michelin Pilot Sports, I didn’t want to dish out for a brand new set since I’m looking to replace my Car in the next year or two. Looking around for an economical alternative, I had to rely on reviews and decided to give these Z4’s a try. It was a gamble based on the cost, but it turned out to be a pretty good choice.

I’m a spirited driver, I like faster and really enjoy taking corners with speed and stability. These tires do a good job, they’re obviously not Michelins for sure but actually not that far off either. It’s only been a couple of months but I’m really finding confidence with them under my driving style in both wet and dry grip!. The handling is great, and they’re fairly quiet, and comfortable. I can’t really comment on winter type conditions since I’ll only use them in spring and summer, and the same goes for tread life since I’ve only had them for a couple of months.

For the price point, I’m fairly impressed. They’ll do for now!

Bridgestone Turanza T005 rated 53% while driving a Mazda 3 Astina M Hybrid Sedan
Driving on mostly country roads for 20000 average miles
Worst tire I have ever owned. I installed these tires on. 2.2D Mazda 3 and honestly handled worse than with the Dunlop sp sports with 55000km at 5 years old. Have recently bought a brand new Mazda 3 with the same tires and it has just confirmed my opinions. I wouldn't say they are any less comfortable or loud than other tires but if you appreciate handling any more than just having a car take you from A to B I would avoid these tires.

Dunlop SP5000 rated 80% while driving a Mazda Unknown
Driving on a combination of roads for 41000 average miles
I see a lot of goofballs saying it is bad in wet weather conditions, but I disagree. Although it isn’t the best, it’s good. This is NOT a summer tire. It is an ALL SEASON PERFORMANCE TIRE. don’t get it confused. It’s decent in snow, but you can’t really expect ANY low profile to be good in snow. That’s goofy. I wouldn’t get them again because a set of 4 here is 1100 USD.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS rated 85% while driving a Mazda Unknown
Driving on mostly town for 6500 average miles
Purchased a new set of Continental DWS06+ back in May 2023, extremely confident during Canadian summer and fall for wet and dry conditions. During winter, I delayed switching them for my winter tires just want to test the snow conditions. I didn’t get a chance to test a heavy snow conditions but during winter weather (cold temperatures at -5 Celsius) and cold wet weather I have no complaints. The only surprise is, it’s now end of December and my tread wear is now at 8/32nd after only 8 months of driving (10,742kms), by no means I am pushing them, just occasion spirit driving in the back roads during summer. Now swapped a new set of Continental WinterContact SI plus, will write a review after this winter. Cheers!

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 rated 90% while driving a Mazda 3 Series
Driving on a combination of roads for 34000 average miles
I am maximally satisfied with these tires.
They simply fit to my car and driving style perfectly. After 34000 miles there is still 3mm left. Dry handling gets better once they warm up and in wet conditions they do just as good. Quiet and comfortable as well.

Bridgestone Turanza T005 rated 80% while driving a Mazda 121
Driving on mostly country roads for 3500 average miles
I use these tires on my everyday car. It’s safe and worth the price. The only small negative is the noise, but this is not a problem for everyone.

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT rated 84% while driving a Mazda 3 2014
Driving on a combination of roads for 32000 spirited miles
18s came on the Mazda 3 premium. Drove them to 51000km before retiring them, mainly because I hadn't rotated the tires and the wear became disturbingly uneven- but it still had some treadlife. Switched to the ContiSportContact 5 and although a little wider at 225 and lower profile at 40, feels about the same. However, I did notice the Contis had worse breaking distance--but it could be new tire issue. Also the Dunlops felt lighter probably because they are old now with less rubber--could contribute to the braking distinction. I switched also because the Dunlops are overpriced where I am and wanted to try something else. But yeah, even at 51000km, they were still solid in the dry and fine on wet highways if you lookout for puddles. They did start to squeak if you push them in turns at around 35-40000km.

Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 rated 59% while driving a Mazda 3 2.2D 150
Driving on mostly country roads for 16000 spirited miles
I have used these for 20.000 km on a Mazda 3. engine is a remapped 2.2 turbo diesel with 210 HP and 480nM. it's not slow but spinning in 3th gear in wet roads is excessive. even my winter tires (Dunlop wintersport 5) put down more grip . dry grip is fine, steering is very wobbly, the sidewalls are too soft so it dances around in fast corners. not a fan, will change to Michelin pilot sport 5.

Hankook Kinergy 4S2 rated 75% while driving a Mazda mazda 3 1.8D (2019)
Driving on a combination of roads for 44000 average miles
It is my first experience with all seasons tires. Hankook Kinergy 4S2 do their job. I never expected high performances but I was so impressed of how good they are on all conditions: dry, wet and snow. Drove on snow (fresh and icy) several days in the last two winters, snow is frequent where I live. Many people say all seasons are bad compared to summer and winter tires, well, my point is they are better than summer tires used in winter and better than winter tires used in summer (we see lots of these cases, right?). After about 44000 miles there are still 1.5mm of tread above winter mark. Hopefully I migh be able to use them for anothre winter too. I will buy them again without any doubt. Well done Hankook!
