245/45 19 Tire Review Highlights

Continental EcoContact 6 rated 49% while driving a BMW iX1 XDrive30
Driving on mostly town for 0 average miles
Being a Conti I expected the tire to be a lot better than this, it was a very middle of the road tire, and fairly noisier than expected. Wear was terrible 13 months and +/- 22k and they worn it, on a car that an EV (granted the weight ) that is used as a family city car 98% of the time. Hardly ever driven hard.

Leao Nova Force rated 90% while driving a Opel insignia
Driving on mostly town for 5000 spirited miles
I bought bigger 19 inch wheels for my car and i needed new set of tires. I went for a budget option since the premium brands ask too much for their products. The workshop recommended this set of LEAO NOVA FORCE, a brand unknown for me. The European testing put them on 16th place out of 50 selected tested tires. On highways i do not drive above 150 km/h, city maybe 80 km/h on some places but more often 50-60. My city has uphill and downhill streets. The tire is very quiet, the grip is more than satisfactory, on wet surface they handle well. The wear is just fine, no signs of extensive wear. My car is FWD with 140 hp engine manual gear so all the pressure is on the front tires. They exceeded my expectations for half the price of the premium brands. I will probably buy another winters set for the 18 inch rims from the same manufacturer. IF YOU DONT RACE YOUR CAR i highly recommend to give them a try.

Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT rated 46% while driving a Audi A6 Avant Quattro 2.0TDI
Driving on mostly country roads for 0 average miles
I have a 2021 Audi quattro estate, these tires came with the car, purchased as second user. I LOATH these tires, never felt so little grip in a 4wd car, bad in the dry, worse in the wet, and any bumps in the road seems to make the car feel like it is constantly slipping. Not good in windy conditions either . I am not an overly speedy driver, but driving at least 10mph slower to feel safer. Changing out ASAP

Rovelo Sport A1 rated 61% while driving a Mercedes Benz E Class

Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 rated 82% while driving a BMW X3 2.0d Sport
Driving on mostly town for 2000 average miles
Changed my P Zeros to a cheaper brand and brought Hankook for my BMW X3 and i was very surprised , the drive was smooth and road handing very good but i don't drive fast in the wet, and they are very quite as well when on the motorway . The last lost of tires were nearly £1k and these were £766 and to be fair what a great buy, not had them long enough to judge the road wear but the Pirellis in my opinion wore very quickly especially at the front .

Bridgestone Turanza EV rated 74% while driving a Tesla Model S
Driving on mostly country roads for 800 spirited miles
Very quiet, soft and comfortable ride, seems to handle very well over the first 800 miles. I am shocked that they are so inefficient however. My 2018 AWD Model S has averaged 266Wh/mile for the first 3 sets of tires over 90,000 miles. So far the Turanza EV is averaging 281Wh/mile, a loss of range of about 11%. The only way they can make up for that loss is to last longer than the 30,000 miles the previous tires have lasted. I hope they do.

Radar Dimax R8 rated 100% while driving a BMW 530D M sport
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
This is a first for me to buy budget tires.
I have to say i am very impressed with the grip and the handling and the comfort much better than the Bridgestone they have replaced.
I don't do reviews but when i was buying these i looked at the reviews and it was a bit mixed, so all i have to say is i have put two tires on my BMW530d for less than the cost of one from a brand name, and they are brilliant.
i can't tell you how happy i am with them

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 rated 67% while driving a Tesla Model S
Driving on mostly country roads for 9700 easy going miles
I previously had the Goodyear Asymmetric 5 and they lasted 62000km (38500 mi). The Asymmetric 6 lasted less than 16000 km (10000 mi) and in fact they had been done for at least 3000 km since when I was going to rotate the tires when I saw they were completely flat, I was surprised such a short life; the front ones were a little bit better but almost done as well. Maybe it's a quality problem but I took the car to the same shop and had installed the previous version, the Asymmetric 5. I hope they perform equally as the ones I had 3 years before. I drive very very smoothly and gently and my driving style hasn't changed. I wouldn't buy them again and I wouln't recommed them to anybody eventhough the tire is silent and the grip is great.

Aplus A607 rated 40% while driving a Mercedes Benz CLS63S
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
Absolutely do not buy! I got these tires for my beater rims and only in 4000 miles I got a massive bulge in one of them. The tires handled ok in the dry and surprisingly decent for noise level. However, the wet grip is abominable and potholes feels like I crashed the car. For the price is ok but please save your rims because they have no cushioning effects and directly translated damage to my rims and got one of them cracked.

Toyo Proxes Sport rated 83% while driving a Ford G6ETurbo 50th Anniversary
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
Put these on to replace the toyo r888rs I had on, with 440bhp and limited spirited driving, they lasted 6000kms. Have travelled 5000kms on these and wow, out perform the r888rs by a country mile and with a ton of tread left. Treadwear is actually very surprising to say the least. Definitely a quality budget performance tire option.

Hankook Ventus iON S rated 75% while driving a Tesla Model S
Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 spirited miles
After the preliminary review (200 miles - Tesla Model S, 11 Aug 2023) I thought I'd come back with extra thoughts several thousand miles in:

- The efficiency gains is accurate, these helped me get some of the lowest Wh/mile I've achieved in my Model S covering quite some miles in France over the summer, and then over the autumn. I've had my MS for 130k miles so have a good feel on what is achievable, and they did very well.
- They are definitely more refined from a noise perspective.

However - I do drive "enthusiastically" and having driven them a lot more now I can state confidently that these tires are greasier than the PS5s I had before. They are progressive in their loss of grip, so you have good feeling and there's not a moment of surprise where you suddenly lose your back-end, which obviously is a positive, and therefore I was not uncomfortable driving these, but in dry cornering they just don't hold up as well as I would want, and you feel the car sliding a little.

My wife also has a Model S with these tires on. She is not an aggressive driver but she also noticed that they are greasier too.

I've since sold my MS and have a X. When the summer tires on that need replacing I am very unlikely to buy these again (if they even do the size) - I just miss the grip too much. For my wife, we may stick with the Hankook's for the efficiency/noise as she is not an aggressive driver and the cost saving, and refinement/efficiency are probably worth the compromise on grip.
