235/65 17 Tire Review Highlights

Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady 2 rated 91% while driving a Toyota Camry
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 average miles
Replaced some Michelin CrossClimate 2s and these seem to have even more grip, especially in the wet. Not tried much ice yet and only a little bit of snow but very impressed so far.

Nexen Roadian GTX rated 49% while driving a Kia Motors sorento
Driving on mostly motorways for 25000 average miles
The tires are unimpressive at just about anything. Dry traction and grip are acceptable, noise/comfort is fine. Wet traction and grip are underwhelming, and snow traction is pretty bad.
They are wearing extremely quickly, and are down to about 20% tread after only 25,000 miles. These are supposedly a 70,000 mile tire. These tires are daily driven on the highway as part of my wife's commute. They're not abused, they've been rotated every 5,000 miles. We had the alignment checked to make sure nothing was out of spec because they are wearing so much more quickly than expected. I will definitely not be buying another set of these. There are several other tire options that are better than these Nexens in literally every category.

Nokian Outpost APT rated 73% while driving a Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
We have really enjoyed these tires. Primary use is on road, but gravel road, dirt road and off road, and snow/ice are all important to us as we have many outdoor hobbies, and this vehicle is used for all of them. The compromise of these tires is rather good, great grip on pavement and dirt/gravel and snow, but not ice. Dedicated winter tires are drastically better than these on ice. Everywhere else though, these are rather good for a road biased AT tire. Wet traction in particular is really good for an AT tire. Noise is not bad except from 40 to 47 mph on paved roads, in that small range the tires make a somewhat intrusive hum that can be heard and felt, at all other speeds though the noise is not so noticeable. No measurable change has occurred in fuel economy, same as the shallow tread depth OE highway tires.

DO NOT BUY THESE TYRES!!!!!!
These have been the worst Tires I have ever had on any vehicle. after only 40000KM lumps began falling off revealing the wire mesh. Some damage was caused from curbs in parking, therefore very low speeds. I mostly drive highways and local suburban streets. These Tires have endured some large trips and I have never felt confident with them on the vehicle. In the wet they are dangerous - they have no grip, you slid around corners even at very low speeds roundabouts and signal light turns you can only pull away slowly or you are straight away slipping and sliding all over the road, they should not be allowed to sell a trye as poor quality as these. I had the Tires reviewed/ assessed by the original installers and was told they need to be replaced at 47000km these are the smallest Kilometers I have ever had from a set of Tires. They are not down to the wear indicator, but the rubber has gone "soft" were the words of the assessor and I was advised NOT to drive on dirt roads as more lumps were likely to come off. I purchased these on special at $190/ tire and had a care plan which I maintained for balancing and rotation. They have worn evenly.
DO NOT BUY THESE TYRES!!!!!!

Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure rated 79% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 average miles
I've fitted them on Freelander 2 for a autumn overland rally in Romanian mountains.
We have done almost 2000 miles on tarmac, big rocks, gravely roads, grass, some mud and even snow and ice. Mostly on lowered pressure to 1.8-1.9 bar.
I was surprised by the incredible grip on grass even in very steep slopes. We didn't got any puncture on sharp rocks. Quite reasonably usable in 15cms of fresh snow.
Still quiet and comfortable enough.
Great surprise!
When compared to BF Goodrich TA/KO2, the Goodyear doesn't look as hardcore as BF, but performs better overall at half the price. BF is only slightly better in mud.

Hankook Dynapro AT2 rated 73% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
First of all, after the regular summer tire, Hankook turned out to be very comfortable. I enjoyed driving both on asphalt and off-road. Unfortunately, I only had the chance to use them for one season. During winter, a Russian missile hit the storage where I kept the tires. So, for the next season, I purchased different tires that were available at the time. I highly recommend them and think I'll return to them someday.
