235/50 18 Tire Review Highlights

Rotalla Setula 4 Season RA03 rated 88% while driving a Vauxhall Insignia 1.4T
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
Bought 2 Rotalla RA03 for the front to replace some Landsail CLV2 that have worn unevenly on the side of the tread. Im not a fast driver and do a mix of town and motorway driving. The difference was like night and day, noticebaly quieter on the road and confident under braking. A month later and I've just had two more fitted to replace the (Landsail) rears (which still had 4mm of tread) and the noise levels have dropped again, should have changed them sooner...

Continental UltraContact UC7 rated 50% while driving a BMW E38 7 Series
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 easy going miles
As I write this - I have just contacted Continental Malaysia and Continental Singapore for assistance to check my 3 weeks old tires, I am using UC7 at the moment and the aquaplanning is very bad, light wet conditions at 60km/h to 70km/h. It "floats" around all over and this is not an exaggeration as I doubt it performs this bad. I hope Continental will assist me with this matter.

Falken Wildpeak AT Trail rated 85% while driving a Ford Escape
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 easy going miles
The Falken AT Trail's offer a better ride and driving experience than the OEM Continentals. Only minimal loss of fuel economy and not discernible increase in road noise. They really come into their own on gravel roads, but also perform excellently on tarmac.

Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 rated 84% while driving a Ford Mustang
Driving on mostly motorways for 40 spirited miles
I live in Hawaii so the roads are in pretty good condition and I don't have to worry about ice and snow. I replaced the Goodyear Eagle GT (OEM's) on my car with the Michelin Pilot Sport AS4's about 3 months ago. What a difference in handling, road noise and comfort of the ride ! The tires feel "sticky" to the road with great handling in corners and on the twisty roads up into the mountains. I haven't noticed a significant difference between dry and wet grip, as the tires provide a consistent sense of confidence regardless of the weather conditions. I have noticed some mild road noise, but nothing as compared to the old Goodyear tires. I will leave an updated review in regards to tire wear, but so far I would say highly recommend!

Bridgestone Turanza 6 rated 87% while driving a BMW X3
Driving on a combination of roads for 7000 spirited miles
I bought a BMW X3 3.0d , x-drive, mapped. It has the Bridgestone T005 on the back, and they are good, on the front were new Turanza 6 ... I have read all the mixed reviews, and mixed test results on here, but for me, on the front of this car, they are very very good. Grip in all conditions, wet/dry hot/cold ect is very good. very good resistance to aquaplaning too. the most astonishing thing is the wear, I have covered 7,000 miles in them, and they have hardly worn at all, they still look brand new, and only show some wear on the edges of the tires (I'm an 'enthusiastic' driver ;) ) I totally recommend these tires to anyone looking for a good "all rounder" . will defiantly consider again.

Pirelli P7 AS Plus 3 rated 90% while driving a Buick Regal
Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 average miles
These tires have been a huge improvement over the stock Contisilent ProContact tires on my Buick Tourx, which I replaced due to dry rot. The Pirellis handle better in both wet and dry, ride better, and are quieter. I have no experience with either tire on snow or ice. There's no noticeable wear after 6000 miles.

Goodyear UltraGrip Performance rated 91% while driving a Infiniti Q30
Driving on mostly town for 6000 average miles
Very good tire with a good value for money ratio. Had them for a while and the grip on snow, wet and dry was almost perfect. I cannot recommend them more.

Continental Cross Contact LX Sport rated 23% while driving a Volvo XC70 T6
Driving on mostly motorways for 28 easy going miles
Tires came equipped on the car. Original owner was a 70+ year old doctor who drove conservatively. My wife used the car the most as their nanny and drove it home to work. She is an Asian woman who got her license in her late 30s so as you can imagine, an easy going obey traffic laws kind of a driver. The car was given to us and I put maybe 2k miles on it myself, I'm impatient and pass on the right kind of a driver but don't push the car and not a "spirited" driver. Tires cause mild vibration at maybe 55 mph and over. Car history, 28,500 Miles (obvious American) in need of 3rd tire replacement. Horrible reviews on Continentals own U.S. website. Gotta figure any tire that does not have a mileage warranty is probably going to be crap. Highway and city miles Between New Jersey to/from New York City, and Connecticut to/from New York City. Car is a 2015.5 Volvo crossover vehicle. Currently researching 4 tire replacement. Not wasting another dime on these.
Only crossover I've ever driven and no other experience with tires on the car so hard to gauge much of the scores. They don't have a score specifically for hydroplaning. Figured an AWD crossover would handle hydroplaning better. Seemed to take longer to recover than I would have expected.

Falken Wildpeak AT Trail rated 83% while driving a Ford Kuga
Driving on mostly motorways for 20000 average miles
A great SUV tire for predominately on-road driving with the occasional off-road excursions. Handles well on gravel and rocky snow field access roads. Overall a quite and well composed ride across all types of terrain, so lives up to its AT name well.

Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 rated 96% while driving a Ford Mustang gt
Driving on a combination of roads for 35000 average miles
my 2016 mustang gt came with Pirelli pzero nero tires. i'm the one guy on the mustang forums that likes these tires, however during the post-pandemic supply chain issues i could not find them. so i bought the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 because they were the only "good" tire i could find. i found the pirelli and the michelin equal in everything except: dry road michelin are better, wear michelin are lasting me longer. i did get 0.4mpg more on the pirelli.
im in south texas so weather is hot. i have a 1 hour commute to work (24mi highway, 20mi city). road are generally good. im likely to get the michelin again as they have already lasted me 40% more than the pirelli and are still good.

Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport rated 47% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan Sport 2.0 TDI 140hp
Driving on a combination of roads for 35000 average miles
Excellent long wear rate is the only positive about this tire.

Negatives; Poor in wet conditions and aquaplanes dangerously.
Understeery.
Noisy tires on nearly every surface.
Long breaking distances.
Average handling.
Poor road feedback.

Would not buy as a replacement tire. Next will be Continental PC7 or Michelin PS4 or 5.
