180/55 17 Tire Review Highlights

Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 rated 90% while driving a Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 factory
Driving on mostly country roads for 9000 spirited miles
I've already gone though a pair of these tires, they offer excellent grip and feel in any conditions, my only downside is that they'll probably last you one season of riding on the roads. Haven't used them on the track but for road use these are excellent, riding sporty or casual, it does it all.

Also it has an very progressive feel so it doesn't really ''tip in'' that much, which I personally prefer.

Bridgestone Battlax Sport Touring T32 rated 81% while driving a BMW R1200RT
Driving on mostly country roads for 3000 spirited miles
I'm currently on my second pair of T32GT tires on my R1200RT. The handling improvement over the previous very heavy/slow steering Michelin PR4GT tires was immediately noticeable when rolling out of my driveway withe the first pair of T32GTs, and the tires continue excel in all conditions whether dry or wet, cold or hot. The T32GT wear is very disappointing to me though; less than 7,000 miles to the rear tire wear bars on the first set and the second set won't make it that far. I routinely got over 10k miles from a variety of different tires on previous > 1,000cc sport touring and adventure touring bikes, riding all in the same type conditions (mostly solo and no luggage) and in the same region of the US, and I expected many more miles out of modern premium tires.

Metzeler SPORTEC M7 RR rated 89% while driving a Yamaha MT09
Driving on for 0 miles
M7RR are the best pair new as a set tires i have ever had the experience to use. Simply amazing! Im an old school rider and the tech jump from the yesteryear of bias ply to raidials is unquestionably the biggest advance in motorcycles i have seen in my liftime. I am on my 5th set and second bike using these tires originally a 03 Yzf R1 and now a 2018 MT-09! I have zero complaints and have even hit a 2x4 lumber at full lean knee down carving hard when this scrap wood came into view and I was completely convinced that my great day riding was coming to a very soon end. I would like to say that i let up and accepted of my fate but the truth is I did absolutely nothing except completely except my fate and what was very soon to come but to my most unbelievable suprize the M7RR couldn't have ran over that piece of scrap lumber any better had the motorcycle been standing straight up and down in a straight line! Now maybe had i done something like let up it may have been a very different senerio i truely dont know, my suspect is that it wouldnt have seen to matter much as these tires are clearly going to see to out perform of anything you can see to dishing out to them. I am a hard rider not the best at anything mind you but i am rough on shit and my bikes, sleds, cars, and trucks are no exceptions as I try to save that for the ladies! I at this point probably would have and have been meaning to see how much better the M9RR's could possibly see to be! I havent had the opportunity to be able to find them as a set at of the times ive been purchasing new tires and at the moment im not finding M7RR's or the M9RR's in a matching set i can get front or rear of either or the other I may indeed see to be chased off of metzeler this round in favor of being able to run a set that were designed to be used with one another from another brand. The sheer engineering advancement ive myself been witness too by these great tires has me 100% willing to do as the engineers say replace them together at the same time irregardless of wear to one or the other and use them as the sets they were intended to be and so far i certainly can not complain! I did try swapping out 2 rears to salvage the life of a front and while it didnt see to hand me my demise. I never did have the same level of pretty much the entire second rear tires life just in every aspect of tires it just wasnt the same i didnt recieve of the same feed back from them they were not as confidence inspireing the bike in the second half of the front tires life didnt repel of slight tracking of the tire groves in the roads much like bias ply truck tires do at least not like the life of a new matched set do! I have a few places that I ride where you can really evaluate a set of tires as to how they react to the road or if they are truely top notch and performing as they should in the life of a new set for the full life of the back tire will see to experience zero tracking due to the the shape of the road as the tires are completely responsive to rider inputs and see to go only when and where you tell of them to completely eliminating of the surface determining where your path of travel will see to be and that is what ive learned about the difference between a matched pair for the life of pair vs mix and match and to be honest there is just so many variables by simply comitting to ride a motorcycle on public roads much less at the demanding levels that ive been known to put of my bikes under is that little bit gonna be make or brake of it for me? Or am I not a capable enough of a rider to see and easily compensate for such a minor difference in performance? Well it does cost more and im a pretty evaluationaly logicail guy sometimes to a bit of the extreme. The way i see it is that i love to ride and with the likes of the M7RR If i walk up to my bike after work on a cold wet morning or a smoking hot mid summer day that ive been pushing the hell out of them. The bottom line is I'd rather pay for what ever i may to have the peace of mind to know that the tires are going to be up to the task of allowing the bike to do whatever and whenever i may see to demand of from it at any given time! I will see to pay whatever they may see to ask if the tires continue to deliver on that level of a performance standard. Ive seen my riding improve due to possibly just miles aboard and my abilities to demand of the bike unknowly increase to more and more like finding myself walking the rear around into corners and able to ask of all one can stronger and stronger out of the exits of turns! Not to mention my tendancies to place of the entire demand of both of the tires indavidually for extended distances far more often than i probably should. Thus far i have found of not a single thing that i would see to complain about M7RR's when used as they are designed to be. Great job Metzeler Elephants like me will certainly not soon forget of the tires that you saw to provided of me. Thank you, many smiles never enough miles earned!!! Cheers,
William B. Rodman VI

Bridgestone Battlax Sport Touring T32 rated 70% while driving a Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 factory
Driving on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
T32 180/55 rear (not GT). On an Aprilia Shiver 750. 36psi cold. Rear tire, when pushed, will slide. Previous T31 had bags of grip, and bought the T32 for wet weather improvements, assuming similar dry grip properties. In the wet, they are good, no better than the T31s, but in the dry, when I like to push on a bit, I've found I can slide the rear, on the lean. First time it happened was a bit of shock. No changes to riding style, same roads, clean and dry. After the second slide a few miles on I stopped to check it wasn't fluid or something else, it wasn't. The tire felt mildly warm when I was expecting some heat. I have TPS on my wheels and have noted that PSI increase due to ride/heat increase is slow, much slower than I'm used to, in fact running pressure is a few PSI down on the T31. This tells me the tire is stiff, which explains the slide and the slow increase in heat/pressure. Would I buy the T32 again....NO. I'll go back to the T31 which is much much better. If you tour and are gentle on the throttle, and don't hoon about, you'll be ok with this tire, but for me I expect a good balance between consistent grip and life, and sadly the T32 is lacking in grip when pushed hard on lean.

Bridgestone Battlax BT 016 rated 43% while driving a Suzuki GSXR750 L8
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
I have this on my GSXR750 and I'm going to replace them after I lost traction and low sided on a low speed turn.

I didn't notice any issues in summer, but as soon as the colder months came, the weakness shows. I have no confidence with this tire in wet and/or cold weather. It lacks grip on the sides and I'd say it's dangerous.

Metzeler ROADTEC 01 rated 99% while driving a Kawasaki Z900 V2

I ask the tire shop for their recommended one, they recommended the Road Tech 01, from what I can say my first impression was awesome and definitely going to buy again.

Bridgestone Battlax Sport Touring T32 rated 89% while driving a Kawasaki KTM SMT 990
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
here writing just after my first ride with the new T32 tires (with a KTM smt 990).
my first was with a kawasaki ninja 250r, used over 4000kms. After my stock tires, T32 shown me how much a quality tire could change your riding experience. The bike was like on another level, also my riding experience. the stability & handling was so encouraging . Wet and dry performances were both fine.
After around 4k kms, have felt some lose on its performance, but was not a deal breaker.
So i bought T32 again for my Ktm 990, replacing my worn continental tires on which i had wobbly turns, even could not leave the handlebars because of wobble. In my first ride today it was first thing i have take in account because was already feeling stable .. As i tried to leave my hands, the bike had this perfect stability .. there were no wobble left .
yes, i m admired of this tires . since it was my first ride w the new tires, didn't yet push it so much but i have been on a curvy road.. and never felt me insecure .

Continental ContiSportAttack 2 rated 97% while driving a Unknown Unknown
Driving on for 0 miles
I love them.
They get warmvery quickly, and then, give you an awesome grip.
I had before Michelin 2CT, they wore out with waves in them.I contacted Michelin France, they told me : "you take too many left turn" - right !
The Sport Attack 2 is a very good & reliable tire, and as a matter of fact, I am getting new ones fitted next wee Wednesday.

100% recommended, don't hesitate, and the price ratio is acceptable.

Ride safely ! Renaud.

Avon Storm 3D XM rated 53% while driving a Triumph Sprint RS
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 average miles
Changed to these from Bridgestones - feels now like a bit of a mistake! Though only a year old, the rubber on the front - particularly the edges - has noticeably hardened. That, along with some really obvious cupping of the tread, meant that the feedback in bends had gone. It was uncomfortable leaning the bike over as it felt insecure and it was no longer tracking a line nicely. In the wet, the grip was still there, but the feel from the front was extra vague. The rear had fared better, but had developed some square-off. Though both front and rear had at least 1000 miles left in them in them before reaching tread-depth limit, it was no longer a pleasure to ride on them.

used for about 6000km always without saving anything. very aggressive driving style but with a 48hp bike.
degradation increases significantly on days with temperatures in the 40s. on colder days they take a few km before coming up to temperature.
overall satisfied
