2022-08-14 - Has anyone compared these to the supersports? Currently running f1 supersports all round on a vauxhall astra mk5 vxr, 280bhp front wheel drive, tempted to give these a try as the car is only a daily with occasional spirited back road driving, one thing that made me go for the supersports was the firm sidewall as I previously ran rainsport 3s and the handling was terrible due to the soft sidewalls so not wanting to loose the sidewall feeling of the supersports

We've not directly compared the Asym 6 to the F1 SuperSport but he educated guess is that while the asymmetric 6 will feel miles better than the RainSport 3 - a tire notoriously soft on the sidewall, the F1 SuperSport should still have the edge in dry handling. These will be better in the wet, more comfortable etc.


2022-05-30 - Does this tire work on an M135 xdrive (2013) with serial wheels (summer)?

If you can find the size needed then the Asymmetric 6 will be a good match for your M135.

2023-01-07 - Has anyone else noticed a worsening of fuel economy with the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. I had 4 fitted (Audi Q3) and its coincided with a significant fuel economy reduction (approx. 15%)?

What tire did you replace? A worn tire has around 15% better rolling resistance due to lower tread depth, so if you replaced something similar, that might explain the drop.


2023-04-05 - Any idea on how thesel hold up with light track work? Heading to the Nurburgring in June and wanted to fit a set of F1 Supersports, however they have been out of stock in 245/35/18 since October, so looking for an alternative for my 2013 M135i

The Asym 6 does not take heat as well as the SuperSport, but it's still reasonable good for its category. If your driving style is VERY aggressive on track they might not be the correct tire for you, however the 'Ring has quite a low grip surface and long straights there's a good chance they'll be ok.

2023-09-26 - Im due to change my RFT`s on my 2009 330i M Sport Coupe Auto. Is this a good idea? My choice would be to change to Goodyear Asym 5 or 6. Or PS4s. Which do you consider would suit the car better. Im running on 19" rims with 225/35`s front and 255/30`s rear. I had Asym 5`s on my 330i Ci which were brilliant. Dont do any spirited driving any more. Too old for that now (70). Safety and comfort is more desirable, specially when I have "miss Daisy" with me !!!

The largest percentage of people I see moving away from runflat tires on BMWs move to the Asymmetric range and really enjoy the switch, so it seems this would be a good choice for you!

Yes they would fit however they would be slightly pinched as that is outside of specification for that size, a 235/45 R18 should be fitted to a 7.5-9 inch wide wheel with an 8 being the sweet spot.

2024-06-30 - I consider buying a set of Asymmetric 6 or Michelin PS4s for a Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Which one do you think is better considering I live in a climate where there are 10 °C in morning/during night and 30-40 °C during the day and it is raining once few weeks, but when it does, it raines very hard. I am not going to track but I have a more sporty driving style. I plan on using them for autumn as well, when it is raining more often and there are even 5 °C in the morning and 25-30 during day. What do you think?

Of the two I would probably opt for the Goodyear as it's slightly more direct, however both tires will likely feel less dynamic than the OE Pirelli. They will offer much more grip in cold / wet conditions though.

I am a massive Goodyear fan. I had the Assym 3's on a previous car and never looked back.

I have now had the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5's, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports, Michelin PS4 and even some Avon's (for a brief period) on my current car - a Golf GTI Clubsport 40.

I mix up my driving a lot - lots of motorway driving but also lots of hard street driving and B road blasts, I find it massively important to have the best tires possible to allow me to push my car as hard as I can in a safe manner.

I was massively impressed with the Asymmetric 5's, the sheer grip and feedback were fantastic, along with being very safe in the wet. When my front tires reached the end of their serviceable life after 11,000 miles, I was more than ready to get the newer Asymmetric 6's fitted on the front of my car.

I'm simply over the moon with them already. Having covered about 1,000 miles on them in very mixed driving conditions, they have blown me away. They offer *everything* I could ever want from a tire. They are extremely grippy in the dry and wet, the feedback is great, the ride is very comfortable and the price is very reasonable for a top tier tire. I drove home in heavy rain last night and I drove the car hard to see how the tires would handle hard driving in the wet and they did not miss a beat. I was amazed how they put the power down on wet roads and the grip offered in corners. It actually felt like I was driving on a dry road. Incredible.

I had the Michelin PS4's a few years ago and I did not like them at all, they were too soft and struggled to keep up with my hard driving. I trialled the Eagle F1 Supersports when they first came out - they sound like the obvious choice for a sports hatchback - I found them excellent when warmed up on dry roads but they were nowhere near as confidence-inspiring in the rain and actually quite scary on wet roads. That's why I got the Assym 5's fitted after them and was very happy with my choice. And now I have the 6's I am even happier. These tires are simply fantastic - stupid amounts of grip. I recommend them to everyone. The UK has such mixed weather that I think these just offer the best all round driving experience. They really, really suit the characteristics of the Mk7 Golf GTI. I got them when on offer - £183 for 2 fitted. An absolute steal. Get these tires, you will not be disappointed. I will certainly be getting them again next time round.

I would NOT recommend the Asymmetric 6 if you're looking for a tire that will last for more than 1 year!

I bought 4 brand new A6 tires early this year replacing my old Michelin Primacy 3. Before buying them, I read up on multiple tests and reviews, and the A6 finished on top in most of them. Sure, the A6 has excellent handling, wet- and dry grip, so nothing to complain about there.
My issue is that the tires have terrible longevity.
I don't know what tread depth the tires have from the factory but I would assume they have at least 6 mm. Now, I drive very gently. No excessive accelerations, no heavy braking and I don't haul any heavy loads. I simply use the car to go to work every day back and forth. So when evaluating the wear after 8 months and about 8000 kilometers, the tread is down to 3 mm. This kind of wear was nothing that I expected from a renowned manufacturer such as Goodyear. Sure, some would argue that the A6 are categorized as sport tires with a softer rubber blend. But they are not pure sport tires. They are marketed as performance tires for premium cars, even compatible with EV's. (If you own a Tesla, you would probably need 4 new sets a year with the A6).

So if you're looking for tires that will last, together with equal or maybe even better performance metrics, then buy something else! I surly will go back to Michelin.

Amazing tire, I replaced a Pirelli P7 run flats with these and although it is an unfair to compare them as they are totally different from one another, the difference is night and day. The comfort is now at a different level, the noise levels are significantly lower, the dry and wet grip are amazing too. It was between them and and the Michelin ps5 , but I’ve had the previous model asymmetric 5 and I really liked them, not to mention the price difference. Initial feel is good and I like them a lot , happy with the purchase . More to follow.

I was initially interested in this tire from the reviews both from our man, and from other sources. I was initially pleased by the comfort and the grip in general but surprised by a behavior I noticed only on this tire: the load shift on a fast bend, especially if you touch the brakes, is so bad I need to correct on the steering, something that I never had to do on any other tire on this car, both runflat and not. Makes it feel like the car’s suspension is suddenly perished, this at 2,2bar (front) and 2,3 bar (rear). Things got better by raising the pressure significantly, now it’s at 2,5/2,7 and the tire feels much better, but still does that thing on fast bends, especially on a particular narrow bend downhill. I hate it and this alone would not make me choose this tire again, it never happened with other brand and tires and I had Conti Sport Contact 5, Falken (not UHP), Yokohama V105… i think it could be due to the rigidity of the sidewall, but go figure

Honesty,the most competent tire in all aspects of driving dry or wet doesn't matter. I am also impressed in terms of wear. In the beginning I was a bit sceptical due to small initial tread depth and somehow heavy wear, but after 25.000 miles , 2 rotations and careful monitoring of pressures, all four tires have 3.5 to 4 mm of tread depth.
This means that I can easily extract another 5 to 8 thousand miles ,having the same secure and occasionally sporty feeling out of them.
The only thing that is a little worse after the 2nd year of use is that they have become kind of hard over small imperfections of the road but that might also be because of suspension components wearing as well.
Price is also quite competitive here in Greece, so I will definitely buy them again.

I have an Evo 8 MR, I have always had Bridgestone RE003's as I know these tires worked well enough on the car and it was a safe call for me, since changing out tires isn't a cheap exercise. However I was looking to change to PS5's for this car, but these Asym 6's came up on sale for around $600 for all 4, I just couldn't say no. These tires have greatly improved my car especially over the RE003, safe to say I will never be purchasing RE003's again. The dry grip on these is amazing and at cornering speeds where the RE003's would screech, these tires are silent.
The wet grip on these are day and night, although I was in an AWD car I had to tread lightly in the wet as RE's would slip very very easy. I can now almost drive like it's dry in wet conditions.

Given 93% while driving a Volkswagen Golf MK4 GTTDI 150 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 15,000 spirited miles
Bought the Asymmetric 6 based on opinions found on this site, fitted them 2 years ago on a Golf Mk4. I drive spirited when I can and like to push things 'a bit'. Probably done around 20.000 till now, still got meat on them for another year or 2, so they wear just fine. Only praise words for this tire, dry grip is insane for the price ( which was the main factor when purchasing ). Comfort is great, they are not noisy at all. Braking ( especially in the dry ) is very good.
Don't think rolling resistance is a problem here, I don't seem to get much worse fuel economy when switching from 15inch winter tires. ( Say my average is 5.2l/100km, 4500km trip to Italy last year got me 5.4l/100km. 6000km Turkey trip this year got me a bit more, but that is probably from the rooftop and bigger fuel pump/injector/turbo I installed not long ago ).
Harder cornering in the wet does not inspire me that much confidence, that is the only 'minus' I can think of. Aquaplaning is good tho.
Definetly would buy again if they don't get the Asymmetric 7s till these wear out. Best tires for the money I have driven on hands down.

This tire is amazing. Dry and wet grip is superb. Driving at heavy rain 160km/h is like being on train tracks. Understeer, oversteer... Never heard of that.

Got a full set of A6, I now need to replace the two front tires after 2 years and approx. 20'000 miles. I am driving a Volvo V40 Cross Country, I tend to try gentle but fast.

The wear of the tires ended up being stronger on the inside, maybe they weren't perfectly balanced after sustaining a nail in the tire a few months back.
Just in the process of ordering 2 new A6 tire for the Volvo.

The back tires hopefully have another 10'000 miles in them.

Given 88% while driving a BMW M340I X Drive (225/40 R19) on mostly motorways for 1,000 spirited miles
I replaced the Michelin PS4s on my M340i with the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 and find them much more comfortable for daily driving, with much less road noise. Grip and feedback is good, but the downside is that I get some understeer when pushing the front in roundabouts. In comparison, the PS4s are more like driving on rails, but those come with the downside of being a bit too twitchy and having more road noise.

I guess next time I might go back to the PS4s , or maybe Goodyear Supersports

Given 96% while driving a Nissan 2002 patrol (245/45 R18) on mostly town for 373 spirited miles
I was looking forward to the release after seeing the reviews on this site. It will be sold in Japan from 2024, so I had to wait about two years, and I thought about buying parallel imports, but I put on the genuine product and was impressed with how it drove.
I have an NV36 Skyline sedan, and my previous tires were Eagle F1A3, and I drove 30,000 km on it.
I also have Bridgestone Reguno GR-XI 225/55R17 tires, which have low grip and sports performance, but have a good reputation for comfort.
I put on this Reguno and then the Eagle F1A6 18-inch size, but the comfort was the same in a good way, and the grip performance was so good that I couldn't see the limit area, and even knowing the previous reputation, I couldn't hide my surprise. I don't know of any other tire that combines performance that I thought was impossible to combine like this tire.
Even BS's S007 and Michelin's PS5 do not have this kind of performance despite their high prices.
If I was asked to find anything I'm not happy with, I'd say it's that pebbles stick to the tires, which is typical of high-grip tires, and that the feeling when transitioning from a long straight to a corner feels a little strange because the feeling changes from a comfort tire to a sports tire. I think we need to spread the word more about how great this tire is, especially in Japan.

Given 96% while driving a SEAT Leon FR 2.0 TFSI (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 30,000 average miles
It has been the second set of Asymmetric6 that I have been using and I think there will even be a 3rd one, as I am about to change tires soon. The first set (225/45/17) was on my previous car, a Leon 2.0 FR (1P, 200HP) and the second one (225/40/18) on my current Ibiza 1.5 FR (180HP with program).
Regarding comfort, both cars have a rather tight suspension, so any difference with other tires is little, but they are surely better than some Pirelli Zero Rosso that the Leon had come with and rather slightly better than the previous model (Asymmetric3) I had put on after the Pirellis.
Wear: I have always changed tires at around 3 years or 35000km. With the F1Asym6 I feel I am "cheating" myself in that I could probably give myself at least another 6 months and at least another 5000km.
After an initial "acquaintance" period, when one is getting used to the tires, the outcome will always feel better. I am not a race driver so it took me a while to find out that the tires outperformed my expectations and my limits.
Grip on tight corners is very reassuring while staying on the throttle, and even unexpected lifting the foot off or braking in the corner does not easily bring imbalance to the car. The tires offer excellent grip also on wide bends, on both dry and wet and may even make you want to accelerate in the bend.
The 17 inch set were really very progressive and you could tell when the car was about to skid and it was a joy to control and play with the car. The 18 inch is still quite progressive but maybe slightly less. But as the road holding margins feel wider it may take a little more focus on doing the same.
In wet braking, the ABS will rarely interfere, unless it is a first rain after a long dry (and there is a lot of road dirt gathered).
Certainly a must check out tire before any purchase.

Coming to these from Hankook VP 2 has completely transformed a car. Feels as if car was put on coilovers. When tackling a roundabout or corners at high speed tires dont move sideways at all as if sidewalls were made out of steel. Driving in heavy rain feels like driving on dry - no difference in tire behaviour. The only issue is that it could be quieter,but thats no biggy. Wanted to try these for a long time and have to say I am very impressed. But it needs a better looking sidewalls - probably the worst looking tire from all premiums. Probably will buy again if they will last at least 12000km.
These are on Peugeot 508 which is family saloon and can easily keep up with hot hatches in a corners with these tires on.
