195/50 15 Tire Review Highlights

Kleber Quadraxer 3 rated 60% while driving a Mercedes Benz A
Driving on mostly motorways for 3000 spirited miles
I have purchased the tires to replace the Barum Quadralis 5 which did the job well for 3 full years (6 seasons). Klebers were considered an upgrade. However, there is one design issue - the tires get very loud roar after you reach about 135 km/h. Loads of roar. It lessens a little bit at 140 km/h. This was considered a quiet tire, but it is not. At least not at the speeds. I will not buy again.

Barum Quartaris 5 rated 72% while driving a Mercedes Benz A
Driving on a combination of roads for 50000 spirited miles
I have bought the tires in 2021 and have drivven them for 6 seasons (3 summers and 3 winters). After 50 000 km, the rubber is still soft and tread depth is 4.5 mm.
I have chosen the tire because the tread pattern is winter-like, with the ideas to use the tires all year round.
They are good in dry, rain, snow - no problem to climb in snow conditions to top of the mountain and return back.
The only weakness, as almost all tires, is when the asphalt is getting wet. but not wetted (when the rain is starting). This is a slippery condition. When it is raining, the tires are fine.

I recommend the tires for the usr who would like an all-year-fighter. I will compare the tire with Kleber Quadraxer 3 later, I will also try them. It has a better class B for wet, but no such winter-like pattern, so I guess the Klebers are not so good on snow.

Hankook Kinergy 4S2 rated 77% while driving a Renault Thalia 1.416V
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
I was surprised that such a well-priced all-season tire could be so good in the wet. Much better in the wet (traction, braking and handling) than my summer Toyo TR1 tire and nearly as good in the dry. We don't get much snow here (Hungary), ice and rain are more common, especially the latter. Hence I opted for all-season for winter driving BUT they work well enough in snow, which also surprised me. I was tempted to use them all year around but for the extreme summer heat. Coming from down-under, I was unprepared for the continental climate extremes. I obviously need better summer tires but I will be getting new Hankook 4S2s when the time comes to replace them. I've done about 15,000km so far. I am about to bolt the winter rims back on this weekend (late October) and I still have 5-6mm of tread left. I'm looking forward to improved grip in the wet, especially.

Tires ride fine with confidence in handling and braking but because of nature of car are a little stiff on the uneven bumps and ridges. Tire noise is also OK but not noticeable in a small convertible with all the other noise. I do get some vibration at 68 to 72 mph but don't know if its tires or car. The one thing that I do notice is the rear tires slipping on wet streets upon take off from light or full stop.

Driving on track for 8000 spirited miles
Good but not great grip on track with oversteer balance. Difficult to heat up during daily driving. Acceptable wet grip for this kind of tire. Hard on bumps and very noisy.
They lasted 9.000 miles and 4 trackdays, there is a lot of tread left but the outer edges are completely worn out. For the price it's great, I would definitely buy them again.

Whilst these are pretty respectable all season tires with good dry/wet/cold grip levels, the side wall where it meets the tread is woefully thin! The result is that my son has gone through 6 tires, all with sidewall punctures or blisters in 6 months!!. Now, whilst UK roads are in poor repair and potholes abound, I will not buy another. Have switched to Yokahama Greenearth which I hope last a bit longer - all the failed tires had less than 1mm of wear (much less in some cases). Not recommended.

The tire is very good when it is new both in dry and wet. The braking performance is also great due to its compound. It can get quite noisy even when it's new. But when it is around 30% left, the tire gets very dangerous and slippery even when you go over the road lines. The rubber become hardened after 3 years of use.

Michelin Pilot Sport 3 PS3 rated 81% while driving a Nissan Micra
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 easy going miles
the michelin pilot sport 3 was fitted on my micra k12 1.2 and i was super satisfied with them. all four tires were fitted at the same time on new wheel rims. i drove around 33k kms with them and still plenty of tread left. it was around approx 4mm tread across all tires. so i guess may be 40% of its life remained.

the first 15k kms were insane. the tires were very responsive and you could feel that they would not let you down. i was very happy with stability especially in fast corners and quick steering where the car remained stable at high speed and the tires responded. I felt much more comfortable driving in the wet with them, i could feel the tires had more grip that in the dry. The tires needed to be fired up to good temperature in order to perform well and once u drove normally around with them, you could easily start going into fast corners at high speed without feeling that the tires would slide. in fact in wet conditions, you could afford to do things you don't normally do when it's raining.

the performance started to drop as the tires started to wear out but it was hardly noticeable. hitting the 20k km mark, driving was still very pleasant and still plenty of tread left but i would say its performance compared to when its new, may have drop approx. around lets say 75%. i think that one could take its life tread away completely and still feel comfortable driving around because their drop in performance is at low rate. well road noise is there like any other tires so they didn't disturbed, in fact it was pleasant hearing them as i could say to any1 'hear my pilot sport roaring' lol will definitely recommend these tires and will buy again in a heartbeat/

Michelin Pilot Sport 3 PS3 rated 83% while driving a Toyota Corolla E11 G6
Driving on mostly country roads for 7000 spirited miles
Changed my tires back in 2015 from Toyo Proxes 4, which I always had in high consideration but after crashing because of understeer and smashing a wheel making it impossible to salvage that tire, I decided to try a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 3... and what a change and a pleasant surprise it was! Never had another episode of understeer since I'm using PS3's. They have good dry grip but once they are warm they are even better. Wet grip is where these tires really shine and I trust them even more then in the dry, also never experienced aquaplanning. Braking is also very good in both dry and wet conditions. Comfort is ok and they don't make much rolling sound. In my opinion their only weak point is the wear but the grip never gets exasted from brand new till they finish and even if I go below the recommended tread level they're still better then the Toyo Proxes 4. My car has a swapped 4E-FTE engine producing around 200bhp so I abuse from it around 80% of my driving, these tires always make me feel safe in any situation, have been using them for over 8 years now and don't intend of changing to another brand or model.

Nokian SeasonProof rated 88% while driving a Mercedes Benz A
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
First time purchasing all-season tires. The choice between the various brands and models was made favoring snow conditions, which is the most difficult situation to manage for any average driver. The choice fell on these Nokian Seasonproof. The handling and safety on dry and wet surfaces is absolutely acceptable. The only condition of caution is that, like all tires, it tends to slip on hairpin bends when the road is greasy. If you moderate the speed there are no problems. If the road is only wet but not greasy, no problem. But the real strengths are driving on snow, absolutely like many winter ones, fantastic rolling without inertia, with abundant fuel savings, and very low wear even in the summer months with more than 30 degrees celsius.
This is the fourth year and at the rear they are still almost like new, at the front where there is traction, they are almost halfway.
I couldn't be more satisfied, truly a tire that doesn't make you regret, but makes you forget about changing tires between summer and winter. Excellent quality at the right price.
