245/45 18 Tire Review Highlights

Bridgestone Supercat rated 49% while driving a Holden Commodore ZB
Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 easy going miles
Bought our 2018 Commodore with a new set of Supercats. These are the worst tires I've ever used in the wet (that includes a used set of Triangle tires), the slightest touch of the accelerator spins the wheels. When cornering in the wet you can't touch the accelerator as this will send you sliding into oncoming traffic. Dry weather is fine. They seem to have long life. Can't wait to get rid of them.

Kumho Ecsta PS71 rated 90% while driving a Jaguar XF
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
Fitted to 2014 Jaguar XF, replacing Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 6s, and the difference is not that noticeable. Plenty of grip in the wet and dry, and good handling, although I drive fairly conservatively. Perfect for day to day use, and quite a bit cheaper than premium brands. Only unknown is wear as I’ve only had them for a month, but then the Goodyears tended to wear out fairly rapidly anyway.

Rotalla S210 rated 83% while driving a Hyundai Genesis Coupe V6
Driving on mostly town for 2500 spirited miles
super cost effective....NOT a true performance tire ( buy Blizzak for this) sidewalls are very weak relative to the RE050's normally on my whip. but I WANTED grip , road hold, NOT winter rally rubber.
100% happy with them.Only 1 winter, and expect 2 more good winter s from them...not much wear

Continental MaxContact MC7 rated 88% while driving a Nissan 370Z
Driving on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
Amazing tires, fantastic dry and wet grip. I have a lot more confidence driving in wet conditions.
Excellent braking, I replaced all 4 tires to max contact 7's and it felt like my whole brake system got an upgrade.
cornering feels slightly soft but the tires stay planted.

Davanti Protoura Race rated 67% while driving a Volkswagen Passat b6 2.0tdi 110 crd r line
Driving on mostly town for 8000 average miles
Tbh.. my scores are purely from how I found them in both wet and dry conditions.. adding the fact these are' dry/summer seasons tires and not your your winter tires.. though I've used them more over this winter than previous years.. based on my score ratings.. the protoura tires are definitely in my opinion dry/track orientated purposeful tires only.. in the slightest of wet weathers at avarage to just above your normal road speeds these tires are not forgiven especially on the uk's poor roads, i'e urban city /built up areas where road condition are obviously more hazardous and dangerous road conditions from buses hgvs etc etc.. these tires will at the slighly above speeds cause both oversteer and understeer if driven mostly obviously the normal road speeds..hence the less traction you get.. my overall opinion is these protoura tires 200's upwards definitely a dry road tire only or dry track tire

Triangle SporteX TH201 rated 46% while driving a Nissan 370Z
Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 average miles
Great value tire in the dry/hot weather.
Not so great in the cold/wet, felt like i was driving on pvc/plastic at higher revs.
If you have a smaller hp car e.g a corolla and you're tight on cash should be fine.

If you have a higher hp car and or drive spirited in the wet, these tires are a bad idea.
If you live in a city with minimal rain that is warm, this might be a great value tire.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rated 84% while driving a Ford Ecosport
Driving on mostly motorways for 37282 average miles
The tire provides confidence both in driving and cornering. I’ve used it for 60,000 km so far; it’s still usable, but since it needs to be replaced, I’m looking for a new one. For the first 30-40 thousand km, the tire was quite soft. Since there was no rim protection, I’ve scraped the rims a few times, damaging and tearing the sidewalls of the tire. However, the protection on the sidewalls has allowed for a long-lasting performance. I’ve used it at high speeds and taken sharp turns as well. My car is a 2020 Ford Ecosport 1.0 Ecoboost.

Davanti Alltoura 4 Seasons rated 86% while driving a Jaguar XE RSport
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
In July this year I bought these Alltoura 4 Season tires to replace 4 Davanti DX640s which were at the end of their life. Overall, I had been very pleased with the DX640 and so I thought I would stick with the brand. I chose the Alltoura because I live in rural North East Lancashire and drive along roads that can be quite hazardous in the winter. In these conditions, being rear wheel drive, my car can be a nightmare to drive on summer tires.
Last week we had our first fall of snow followed by a hard frost and then a rapid thaw resulting in very slippery conditions.
I felt totally confident with the Alltoura; the grip on snow, ice and in the wet was very good although I was being less enthusiastic with my right foot.
During the summer months I found that the dry grip and cornering of the Alltoura was comparable to the DX640s, similarly for their performance in the wet even at motorway speeds.
They are very quiet and comfortable.
I had them sourced and fitted by a small, local independent tire fitter and the price came in at just over £100 a corner.

Hankook Winter i cept evo3 rated 89% while driving a Audi A4 2.0 TDI 177bhp quattro
Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 easy going miles
I bought this tire after I read review on this site,I fit it on my audi a4 allroad and this tire is awesome.Im completely blown away in wet driveing ,I drive through water deep 4-5cm with 80-100km/h and I dont have 1mm feedback to my steering wheel nothing to pull itd from my hands...In the dry condition tire is excellent.I drive a little bit on snow and ice and I think its great. This is best tire I ever have.

Pirelli P Zero PZ4 rated 93% while driving a Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro
Driving on a combination of roads for 18 average miles
One of the best tires I've fitted to my car. No problem handling my 2 ton A6 C6 3.0tdi quattro in dry or wet. Very progressive near the limits, in wet and dry.
First noticable aquaplaning started occuring when the tread depth got down to wear limit (1.6mm) and even so, the aquaplaning was progressive and very controllable, unlike the kind that cheap tires have that tend to suddenly lose all grip.
Was expecting a lot more than 28 000 km out of these tires althought they are the first premium tires I've bought new and driven to the absolute end of life so maybe my expectations are too high.

Debica Presto UHP2 rated 54% while driving a BMW 330ci
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 average miles
Average tires really.
They perform decent enough on dry tarmac, but the grip is lackluster..
On wet the car likes to slide around, which isn't necessarily a bad thing for me, but the traction control goes in party mode if you leave it ON and if you are not careful.
They seem to hit the limit pretty fast when I'm pushing it on the curves or twisty roads. Doesn't really inspire a lot of confidence.
Tires were bought new, DOT 2023.
They are not bad as a budget tire, but you will be much well of by spending a bit and getting a decent set of Michelin's for example.
Have a set of Michelin summer tires that have started cracking, and are good for the bin and I swear they still have more traction that these.
Definitely won't cheap out next time..

Sava Intensa UHP 2 rated 59% while driving a Lexus LS430
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
The price of the tires is low and they are made in Germany, but they are considered harsh and make annoying noises when driving the car. I will not buy this type again.
