I've found that above 37-38 psi in very cold weather (around 0-4C) the tires were prone to sudden understeer in wet/greasy conditions (they were set to 39-40 after a service before I lowered them again to 36 for the rest of the winter. The sticker recommendation is 38). Aside from that niche case, at temperatures where really you need winters to be fair, I am extremely happy with these. Amazing grip and very good balanced handling on a mk7.5 GTI, the car is lovely under and at the limit with them. They do wear slightly faster than the Michelin Pilot sport 5 I had before on this FWD car but nothing alarming.

This is probably the first review anywhere as these tires are brand new and just came out on the EU market. I bought the PZ5s completely blind so I wanted to provide some preliminary opinions for others.
In the dry these have loads of grip. Their overall feel is very sporty and firm. There is a nice degree of stiffness that makes turning on winding roads really fun. In the dry these have loads of grip. Their overall feel is very sporty and firm. There is a nice degree of stiffness that makes turning on winding roads really fun. To be honest first impression was underwhelming. I can confirm that the steering is quite numb around the center so the steering feeling is kinda exponential. But you get used to it when driving some time.
All in all the tire behaves. It does not exite but rather does a good job in all conditions. It is a littlebit more slippery then Conti ASC 1 in snow but we rarely see any anyways nowadays. Rest of the summer it's behaving fine, even with tire temperatures over 45 degrees no sign of smear or fade. The wear is also decent. My original pick were these or the Pirelli SF3s. To be honest I'm glad I've picked those over the pirellis because the wear is important if you drive a tire 12 months a year. Very positively are two aspects: The tires are quite Wide for the rim, so the car looks better. Second is the generous rim protector, driving mostly in town it's really good and already saved me some scratches.
All in all I would buy again in the year of 2025. After 13000kms around 6,4 - 6,8 mm tread is left.

Good confidence inspiring grip in the dry. Comfort was also good even for a performance oriented tire. Wear seemed to be on par with most other tires i've used previously. Wet grip is very poor, especially on smooth tarmac.

Compared to the OEM Pirelli PZ4 (HN specs), this tire, overall was... worse. Maybe due to its slightly different size (225 vs 215) but mostly due to its different philosophy and inability to perform well on "glossy", worn, hot Greek asphalt. As a result I experienced serious traction problems, whereas with the OEM tire they were non - existant.
That's a pitty because the tire has a very sporty and direct feeling and in terms of dry lateral grip, was on par with the OEM tire (once warmed)
Unexpectedly, wear was not an issue to this car .

Tires are fantastic for grip in wet and dry, a great UHP tire. I maybe had a slight preference to the PS4’s I had on my last car but the price difference would make up for any minor differences in performance. My biggest gripe with the tire is they were fitted in the start of October 24 from black circles. And my car had its major service in the middle of Feb 25 and I was told the fronts were 80% worn. And it looks like there’s less life than that when I inspected them myself. There are no mechanical, tracking or tire pressure issues with the car.
So all in all a great tire what will cost a lot per mile. Potentially the abrasiveness of the poorly finished Scottish country roads is a contributing factor.

Generally good tires. They feel sporty and truly shine in dry conditions. They keep progressive composure at the limit and have a fun tendency to oversteer slightly rather than understeer (although this was quite new and surprising to me in comparision with my past winter tire experiences). It's a thrill to drive these at the limit when conditions are decent. Launch traction was also good which is important to me - it's often hard to put 204HP down in my fwd car from a stopped start. There were merely a couple days of snow so far but the tires were rather good in piercing through it (better than my previous tires).
They have a rather considerable drawback though. That is ice grip. For me these feel unsafe and miserable on ice compared to my previous Hankook Winter i*cept evo'3's. It's similar but less noticeable when it comes to slushy conditions and deep water grooves. I wouldn't recommend these to a novice driver, based on my experience the Hankooks were safer and more predictable (also much less fun though). Personally I've found noise to be unpleasant and tiresome while driving on motorways with very high speeds - in my experience the Hankooks were more pleasant but it is largely subjective.
